Re: Torrents
It does not matter where you come from, it's where you are going that matters.

Re: Torrents
Thanks Big Boy
Re: Torrents
I like bit che software as a meta search.
I have invites for a few private trackers available.
eg TVV, and some of the bz group sites.
PM with ratio proofs if interested.

Re: Torrents
That site now redirects to thepiratebay10.org. Clicking on anything opens another tab with an ad. Clicking on the magnet download icon opens whatever app you have associated with that file type AND replaces the piratebay page with another ad. Site is usable if you tab instead of click, but why bother?
Re: Torrents
Are you suggesting alternatives? If so, please share.
I find most torrent sites have crap associated with them, but at the end of the day, we're all cheapskates looking for something for nothing. What can we expect, just be careful. My virus protection kicks in to save me each time.

Re: Torrents
I googled 'piratebay proxies'. Found several lists. Before trying one, I tried the mothership: thepiratebay.org It was up, so didn't try any proxies.
Other 2 sources I use are rarbgprx.org and, for movies, yts.am. Yts has a RSS feed. Each new torrent is added to the feed, so you can keep up on the new content without going to the site.
Re: Torrents
It isn't up for me.

Re: Torrents
Was up for me before my last post. It's up right now. We use 3BB. Maybe your ISP blocks it.
Re: Torrents
I'm also 3BB and thepiratebay.org works for me too.
Re: Torrents
My VPN was set to UK. I changed to US and it works for me also.

Re: Torrents
I like TV Vault for American and Brit vintage TV
TheEmpire for non US TV
MVgroup and TheGeeks for Documentaries
Torrentday for Movies
TMB for music
Myanonymouse for ebooks
I do not have invites for all of them but can prolly help you find some.
There are so many specialist trackers out there these days, it might be better if you tell what kind of stuff you are looking for.
Re: Torrents
Before BitTorrent, before the web, Usenet was the Internet source for files you should have paid for. It still exists:
"What would BitTorrent look like if it was lightning fast, always available, completely private, and secure? It’d look a lot like Usenet. Read on to learn how to ditch Torrenting and enjoy super speeds and selection on Usenet."

Re: Torrents
I agree that Usenet was the bees knees when I first got an internet connection, but these days torrents are far more convenient.
Plus,
"Unlike BitTorrent, Usenet is going to cost you some money."
Contrary to popular belief, torrents are not free. I make regular donations to private trackers, after all somebody has to host and maintain all the content. I see it being similar to paying tax to support a good network of public libraries.
