Also for apps these 'Circle Launcher' apps are good, one icon that opens all your favourite numbers for one touch dialing, and similarly an icon for favourite websites or games etc
The 'GoLauncher' platform has some excellent graphics & customizabitlity for your 'home page' themes/wallpapers/icons etc. Plus loads of other handy features like the dock icons can be set up so that they open other apps by flicking them instead of pressing on them. The dock icons alone gives you about 30no. different executable actions, my SMS dock icon when pressed opens the sms app, but if I flick it instead it opens the alarm cock app. This way you don't need an alarm clock icon on your 'home page'. Or pressing email icon opens google mail, flicking it might open hotmail account. The bird reckons this new subtle flicking technique is the bees.
I don't know what the other alternative platforms are like but the 'Go' one lets you customize everything about it, the size of the icons, the number of rows/columns of icons, the number of dock icons, how the screens scroll, different screen transformation effects, lock apps not to be killed by a battery save "Close All Programs"... plus loads of difficult stuff I don't even get!?!?
Re: Android and particularly the S2, after a good few months of use now the only thing that is a bit of pain to me is battery life. For everything else it pee's on iPhones or any other phones I've had. Saw a HTC the other day someone had which appeared similar but never tried it!?
