GMX and Mail.Com
GMX and Mail.Com
The above are now one and the same, Mail.com being bought by GMX some months ago.
Can anyone in Thailand not currently using either of the above do me a favour and go to www.gmx.com and then www.mail.com and hit the button to sign up for free email and tell us what screen you get on both of them?
I ask as I've been trying to do it to explore what they offer, and I keep getting a "requested page not found" message. I have a feeling that GMX is not offering their email services in Thailand. No idea why if true. Thanks. Pete

Re: GMX and Mail.Com
Thanks. Still the same way now so the only thing I can assume is that they don't offer it here. Although once you have it, it works here as some people already have it and use it.

Using a thai IP adress both sites show "page not found".
Both work fine using a VPN service.
If you like we can set up an account for you there together.

Re: GMX and Mail.Com
To be honest, if they are blocking signing-up in Thailand I'd be weary of using them.
Is it just a server misconfiguration? Unlikely, but if so that doesn't reflect well on them.
So are they blocking sign-ups from Thailand on purpose? Quite possibly, but you would hope they would be professional enough to direct to a page explaining that it's unavailable instead of some 'page not found' error.
Additionally, if they're blocking sign-ups in Thailand, is it their intent (and they've just misconfigured something) to block the service completely in Thailand. If not now, is it likely to be something they'll want to do in the future?
There are plenty of email services you can sign up for whilst in Thailand. I wouldn't trust something as important as an email account with a company who don't wish, or are unable to, provide a service here.

Re: GMX and Mail.Com
Yes - I was about to ask whether it was local blocking by the overseers, as opposed to GMX or mail.com. No idea why that might be the case - but such things are not unusual.
Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....
Re: GMX and Mail.Com
Yes, this is a strange one. Cache, history, cookies etc., are all cleared. Doesn't work on either TOT or TRUE. The only thing when a search is done is some previous problem with Bangkok Library and that GMX and mail.com cannot be used with their services.
Indeed if I want it badly enough I can have my daughter set it up from the US. As Pleng mentions, there are other services out there so I'm not going to spend more time on this one. Thanks for all the comments. Pete

I just tried both here using TOT and no problems.

Correction I had already registered when I was overseas, don't understand why there seems to be a restriction here

GMX bought Mail.Com several months ago. They both use GMX system and servers.
