Anyone with a drone?

Post by jvs »

I hope i am posting this in the right place,i am looking for some one who has a drone with a good camera to do a flyover of our property and make a video. We are just north of Cha-am.
Not looking for a professional who wants to make money but we can pay a small fee or buy you lunch or trade things from the garden.

Talk to Terry at the fishing lodge, he had a chap do that for the lodge and I thought it looked quite impressive.

I'm not sure you have enough appreciation of the film production process, either the amount of time it takes, the skills required or the equipment needed. The reason why these commercial (or 'professional, as you put it) outfits charge thousands of Baht is because it is not a cheap exercise and few people do things for free.

You want a drone with a 'good camera', these things start at around $1,500 before you add-in necessary extras like spare batteries, filters, a POV system, insurance etc. Then you have to know how to fly the thing - well - and you will also need a non-linear editing system and the skills to take the files from the drone to produce the finished article in YouTube, clearing rights for the music etc. This is often done by a team of people because it's rare that one individual knows the process from start to finish, at least to turn something round quickly.

I'm sure you can get something done cheaply but I don't think it will be of good quality. If you want something bespoke with a high production value, you're going to have to accept that you may need to give more than what you have in your garden.

If you got more than one drone this is possible. Oh, okay an orchestra as well and some processing power.

Hello Mod,

Did I do something wrong?
Thankful for advise (or link) since it's long time I linked something.

An interesting exercise in what can be done with networked technology or "the hive mind" as sci-fi lovers would doubtless call it. For anyone who has been within 50 metres of such a craft, they will be aware of just how loud these things are. Lifting a 3lb machine with four, fixed-pitch 9" props requires considerable effort and I daresay 100 of them in close proximity would be quite a racket!
