This place is often mentioned on the forum. For those of us here less than 5 yrs. could someone tell me where it is/was? Thanx.
I think the old shopping mall is the one across from the temple. I think it's called Hua Hin Shopping Mall. if you google Hua Hin Shopping Mall you will see it. On the corner of Phetkasem and Soi 74/2. It's got coloured cubes on the front side of the building.

But calling it a shopping mall is a stretch

The shop in Soi 6 has been closed for some time now.
If you go down Soi 6 to Petkasem Road, turn left and Invade-IT is there next to The Baguette.

The store is empty though, there is no point even going in there as staff will just tell you to order online. The two online stores mentioned above (JIB and Advice) are cheaper anyway.

It is called Hua Hin Shopping Mall, on Phetkasem Road opposite the Tourist Centre which is just around the corner from the police station. It has a patchwork façade so can't be missed

I suppose the problem of trying to survive as a computer shop in this era of online retail is that you can't even rely on having non-computer savvy customers who can't order online, like other types of shops might.

The InvadeIt location isn't a store. It's an office with storage. Only reason to go there is to pick up an order instead of having it delivered.

Makes it even less appealing then since the other two have physical stores with physical stock and are marginally cheaper.

hhinner wrote: Wed Sep 26, 2018 11:20 am Advice Computer are a national chain and still have (I think!) a store in the old shopping mall. I'm not sure how much or what kind of stuff they have in stock though. Both Advice and JIB have online stores as well.
Advice is an exceptional shop with great cheap service. Being a national chain they can look up stock in any store and if not available in HH it is delivered in 2 days. I highly recommend them.

3rd floor old shopping mall.

Most other shops on 3rd floor seem to have closed now.
Advice moved over a month ago to the corner of Soi 68 and Petchakasem Road. They have reasonable stuff in stock but can order many things for 2 day pickup as you say. I got my tower PC from them when I first moved here 5 years ago and bought another stick of RAM for it a couple of weeks ago from the new location.

Thanks, they must be running both locations during a transition period because the Soi 68 shop told me they moved, not started another one up. But, maybe they changed their minds and decided to keep both open. The rent in Shopping Mall can't be very high.

^^ Gone today. I notice that IT City has also moved out to MV. Still a few shops left though. Very few!

Want to put in a good word for JIB as I've just bought a PC from them. They have a store in MV but stock is limited so online was the way to go.

The site has a handy spec builder allowing you to create your own rig: https://www.jib.co.th/web/pcsetspec/main

This is great if you have to stick to a budget but want to have decent spec hardware. Ordered online Tuesday, delivered Thursday. :thumb:

Advice is now definitely closed in Shopping Mall as are most other shops on the top floor.
