Before this post degenerates into a 'who can post what' spat, I think it's fair to say that if sateeb's post had ended as it does below, the point would have been more than adequately made.
sateeb wrote: Of course Tunafish is entitled to post a comment about a restaurant as much as we are entitled to respond ...
In some respects, Tunafish's posting history is relevant, in that he seems to suffer from poor service far more often than anyone else on the forum. Of course, that may just be bad luck, or perhaps his expectations are higher than most.

We get all kinds of restaurant reviews on the forum, some glowing, some scathing. These are often countered by those with a very different experience. In this case, the positive far outweighs the negative, so I'd be more than happy to give this place a go.

EDIT: Lessons to be learned:

1. Speak to the manager before you stomp off in a huff.
2. It takes a while to cook a decent pizza from scratch.
This is the way

Let's face it; service in many (if not most) restaurants in Thailand can be slow depending on what it is compared with. The whole pace of life is slower here. When I first came I used to get impatient when I ordered in a restaurant and it took more than 10 minutes to get my order, much more, I used to panic when everything we ordered came except for one item thinking they didn't get that part of the order. I've now learned that this is normal here and it has taught me patience. I absolutely never enter a restaurant now expecting lightening fast service. If it does happen, I'm surprised.

Comparing it to my recent visit to the U.S.; there, you could order seemingly the most complex dish on the menu and if it took more than 5 minutes to show up there must have been a fire in the kitchen. That's a different world and a different business model, much less laid back and far more profit driven. There they get the food to you as fast as possible, make sure to stop by every couple of minutes to cover anything else you may decide to order, get you the bill without being asked as soon as you've eaten and are not ordering anything else and hope for you to leave fast so they can use the table again.

There's merit to both models, and I like some aspects of each model, but you have to understand which model the country you are living in follows.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

dtaai-maai, I would recommend that you do give this place a try, even if only because of their somewhat interesting menu. If you ask me, the place is well managed and well run.

My only comment/recommendation would be that if a family is eating there or going in the balloon, then I think the kiddies play park should be free. Other than that, I think it's a nice place where one can enjoy a good meal in a nice environment.

HHF........you are 100% correct about different countries having different business models. Personally, I much prefer the Thailand model. Even here in Thailand I usually don't place my order as soon as I sit down at a table because I don't want my meal to arrive too soon. I like to have a chat while I'm having a beer or two, and then order. How long it takes for my meal to arrive really doesn't matter to me at all. If it's taking too long, I simply order another beer, no big deal.

This evening (Wednesday) I returned there and ordered 2 pizzas to take away and a glass of red wine while I am waiting. The wine promptly came, and I am left waiting and waiting and waiting...
After 35 minutes, it was obvous that I (as the only customer) was being igonred.
I left THB120 under my wine glass and departed hungry and frustrated. Unless you are russian, give this place a BIG MISS. They can keep their rudeness and arogance for their home country, no need to export it here.
Dear Friends! Thank you very much for all of your good and kind words about Magic Balloon Restaurant! For one year we advertise our business on this forum and we couldn't imagine that so many people support us! You are always welcome in our Magic Balloon Park.

Dear Tunafish,
First of all I am Ukrainian and I am sorry for that day.
Please, choose any 2 pizza from our website of Facebook page and we will send them to you for free.

My thoughts exactly.

Quote Tunafish.............After 35 minutes, it was obvous that I (as the only customer) was being igonred. ( I presume he meant obvious and ignored )

I ate there this afternoon and what Tunafish failed to mention was that there was a private birthday party being held there at the time and Tunafish WAS informed that there would be a longer wait than usual due to the number of persons at this party.

I sincerely hope that the OP does not take up the more than generous offer from Anna and her staff.

What a sad thread! My only comments are:

- If you order food and don't get it in expected time, ffs ask if there is a problem!
- Can we keep racist comments out of this nice forum? Please!
- We can all make spelling mistakes! English is not everyones first language. It's childish to make comments on spelling/gramar mistakes.
- The Magic Balloon Restaurant seems to be a nice place. I will certainly try to visit it my next time in HH!

So where exactly is this Magic Balloon place? I'm from New York and have had the damnedest time finding good pizza in Thailand. All this "made from scratch, preparing the dough" talk is making me drool.

Is it that Thailand REALLY thin crust small pie? What's one looking at price-wise for a cheese pie? Please do tell!

Sorry to butt in and go off topic but this place sounds it makes a good pizza and that's very important to me lol

A real shame IMO. It seemed like a wholesome, family place that offered a lot of fun for people, kids....and food/drink of course. I really hate to see unique places like this fail. :( Pete
