English Breakfast
As much as I love Thai food, after 19 months away from Blighty...
I heard a rumour that you can get a really good English Breaky in Hua Hin. As a connoisseur of this particular dish, I demand the best - Heinz baked beans, real sausages, black pudding (now maybe that's asking too much) etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Cheers

There are plenty of good places in town that serve good breakfasts.
The availability of farang food has improved enormously over the years. I can't recommend one place over the other, but if anyone finds black pudding, please let me know. Reckon the missus would love it, until I told her what it was made from

For cooking at home, you can get black pudding at the Hua Hin Ham and Meat Co. (I think that's what its called) down Petchkasem Soi 42. Again, I think that's the address but they are always advertised in the Observer/Hua Hin Today. They do really nice proper butchers' sausages as well as proper steaks, home made pies etc. and even home made frozen ready meals.
I still can't find any decent cheese anywhere though.

Don't know anything about black pudding as I don't like it, but the breakfast in London Bar is one of the best (and best value) I've had. Limelight also does a decent one as mentioned and of course Jungle Juice. As far as getting good cheese, the best (prepackaged) stuff I have found in HH is from a company called Mainland who seem to do about 4 different varieties - the one I buy is called Vintage and has a gold coloured wrapper, and it is only available in the Shopping Mall supermarket and one of the 'supermarkets' in Damnoen Kasem Road on the opposite side to the 'new' police station, same side as the Post Office. Vintage is like a mature farmhouse cheddar, and they do another one called, I think, Tasty, which is not as strong, as well as a couple of milder cheeses. The one drawback is that the shops that stock it seem to regularly run out - I would say that almost half the time I go to buy it they have run out.

Not sure about jungle juice being the best, London lounge now does breakfast and it takes some beating.
Why cant we get real sausages in town, the ones i have had are foul. The only place i get them from is Pattaya and bring them back packed in ice in a cool box.
Until now all the pies have pastry that you need a Hammer to break into, and the filling is no better.
A lot of places serve breakfast with free yellow slymey cooking oil, ugh.
Mike.
