Hearing problems (Humour)

Post by oakdale160 »

My hearing is deteriorating. I had my ears tested. In the lower registers, the hearing is less than ideal but not too bad. In the high registers, it is severely low. The result is that I have no trouble listening to male speech but great difficulty hearing what women are saying. QUESTION--should I get a hearing aid?

Reason: Classify it as not serious

Sometimes it might be better to not hear what they say.........but maybe you should give it a go - I don’t suppose you can try one to see how you get on before paying the full price?

Well, it won't get any better, so if you want to still enjoy life, the answer is a no-brainer. Modern hearing aids are pretty amazing.

Where did you have your hearing tested?

A friend of my mother’s had a hearing aid with a small remote control.......so you could selectively ‘tune out’ annoying noises!! That’s what I call a good idea ;-)

I believe you are suffering from selective hearing syndrome, enjoy!! (tell us after a while if you're serious)

Yes, you can try a hearing device for 1 week at World of Hearing in Hua Hin. Dennis is the proprietor and is very knowledgeable about hearing and the devices. I've been wearing hearing aids for 13 years. When I first got them I was astonished by what I could hear. I was constantly asking, "What's that sound?" and it would turn out to be the refrigerator or the clicking of the dogs nails on the floor. Prior to getting the aids I was always asking people to repeat what they said and if my back was turned to them I could hear them but not understand what was being said. Hearing aids are the best investment I ever made. If you get a pair get the ones with programing and a remote control to change programs and volume.

No problem - just make sure she realizes she has to say what you want to hear

My post was meant as a joke--I've got a hearing aid.
