Video: Farang bikers beat street vendor in Pattaya

Post by buksida »

Pattaya police are looking for members of the Hells Angels motorcycle gang who assaulted two Thai men Saturday in a road rage incident.

The attack, recorded on security camera footage, knocked Polrat Chartbutr unconscious and left his friend Nattapong Pooncharoen bruised. Pattaya City police chief Apichai Klobpetch said they expect to arrest them soon.

“We have their identities now. They are Australian nationals,” Apichai said Thursday without identifying their names. “They belong to a biker gang that has members around the world called Hells Angels.”

He said his department has notified Immigration Police.

“We believe we will have them soon,” he said.

The victim, Polrat, told reporters he was having dinner at a market in South Pattaya on Saturday when a pickup truck crashed into his parked motorcycle. Polrat and he and Nattapong then gave chase to the truck until it stopped in front of a bar, at which time four “well-built” Caucasian men emerged and assaulted them.

Polrat was knocked unconscious and was later sent to hospital. He also had a slash wound on his face, while Nattapong’s body had extensive bruising.

Hells Angels made headlines in Thailand last year when a former member was found dead in Pattaya. An American man named Tyler Gerard is currently on trial for the murder of Wayne Schneider.

Does anyone else reckon that looks like "Bandidos" on the back of one of them? They are an Australian biker gang.
I can't see these guys attacking the Thais without good reason.
I think the Thais probably thought there was a lone easybeat farang driving and planned to give him a good kicking, however then got a nasty surprise when they found out there were four tough guys.

I heard that their truck clipped a parked motorbike and 4 or 5 Thais chased the wagon only to turn and run when burly bikers got out of the truck. Maybe they thought of a lone farang who deserved a beating and wasn't expecting the occupants to be who they were.

Doesn't excuse the beating the Thai guy got on video but there are so many cases when the opposite happens. A fair fight is usually accepted as 4 Thais, 1 farang.

So its justified when a farang gang beats up Thais that start a fight, but not okay when a Thai gang beats up farangs that start a fight?

Two Australian Hells Angels surrender to Pattaya police

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general ... aya-police

CHON BURI— Two tattooed Australian bikers involved in an assault on two Thai brothers in Pattaya reported to police on Friday and paid 150,000 baht in compensation to their victims.

Daniel Anthony Stalley, 34, and John Lee, 43, both members of the Hells Angels motorcycle club, turned themselves in to Pattaya police chief Pol Col Apichai Krobphet and made statements regarding the Sept 17 incident.

After the two-hour questioning session, police said the pair admitted they were involved in the attack on Ponran Chartbut, 22, and his elder brother Natthapong Pooncharoen, 24.

The two agreed to pay 150,000 baht in compensation for damage caused to the two brothers. They also gave 5,000 baht to another man, Nopparat Prakhongyot.

Where did that come from? Nobody said it was justified. Just pointing out that for once it was the other way round. There are western thugs as well as Thai thugs.

Because there maybe charges to answer which will result in a sentence if found guilty. Any prison time will be served in this country.

A prison sentence here just costs the State money, and would do nothing in the way of rehabilitation.
Deportation and permanent blacklisting is much simpler and quicker.
Incidentally perhaps Immigration should investigate on what basis they are in the Country.
They are too young for Retirement Visa, and they don't look the type to be English teachers, or on the Privilege Visa.
I also don't like them being called "bikers"; they are just tattooed trash, not motorcyclists.

They don't get sentenced or deported because the victims agreed to financial compensation, so as far as the police are concerned, the case is now closed. This is just the way it works here. However, I hope those guys watch their backs.

Not sure just which guys you are referring to, but having seen how the bikers operate in Oz, do not be surprised if the Thais are found floating in a Klong a couple of days after the bikers have left the country.

Pol Col Apichai said police were awaiting the results of medical examinations before deciding whether to charge the two Australians with causing grievous bodily harm. If so, it would be a criminal offence...
Maybe just words but they've left the option open.

Last Hells Angels suspect surrenders

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/crime/1 ... in-Pattaya

PATTAYA: The last of three Australian members of the Hells Angels motorcycle club wanted in connection with an assault on two Thai men surrendered to tourist police in Pattaya on Saturday.

Luke Anderson 40, reported to Pol Maj Piyapong Ensarn, a Pattaya tourist police inspector, to answer a charge of harmful physical assault. Officers questioned him and gathered details for possible prosecution.

His two associates turned themselves in on Friday. Police said that Daniel Stalley, 34, and John Lee, 43, admitted they were involved in the attack on Ponran Chartbut, 22, and his brother Natthapong Pooncharoen,24.
Police said the pair had agreed to pay 150,000 baht in compensation to their victims.

The attack took place on the evening of Sept 17 after the siblings followed a pickup truck that had hit their parked motorcycle. They later found the truck in front of a beer bar in South Pattaya. The two Australians were among three foreigners captured on CCTV footage beating one of the victims to the ground, while another man with a knife stood nearby.

Police are awaiting the results of medical examinations before deciding whether to charge the assailants with the more serious crime of causing grievous bodily harm.
