An Australian man has reportedly been stabbed in a nightclub on Thailand's eastern Gulf.

Police were called to Mixx Discotheque in South Pattaya, a resort city southeast of Bangkok, early on Thursday local timeThe victim, named by local media as 21-year-old Jaydon Sienkiewicz, was taken to hospital after being stabbed in the right side of his chest.

The Bangkok Post reported Mr Sienkiewicz had been partying with a group of ten, including his Australian father and stepmother, and was attacked while in the toilet.

In a statement to AAP, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it "stands ready to offer consular assistance to an Australian man hospitalised in Thailand".

CCTV shows moment Aussie was stabbed after 'groping woman'

Thai police say an Israeli tourist wanted over the stabbing of an Australian man at a nightclub in the seaside resort of Pattaya has fled the country.
Immigration officials informed police that the male suspect had left Thailand, The Nation newspaper reported on Friday.

Jaydon Sienkiewicz, 21, was stabbed in the Mixx Discotheque about 4.30am on Thursday while partying with a group of 10 people, including his father and Thai stepmother.

He suffered abdominal wounds and was rushed to a local hospital.
Police Captain Sombat Kaewmoolsuk told The Nation that security video showed the Australian sitting at a table in the nightclub when the Israeli walked in with his girlfriend.

He said Sienkiewicz grabbed the girlfriend’s bottom, leading to a dispute which resulted in the Israeli pulling a knife and stabbing the Australian.

The woman had tried to stop the stabbing, Capt Sombat said.

Police have interviewed nightclub staff over the incident and will seek an arrest warrant for the Israeli. Thailand has no extradition treaty with Israel.

According to a 2017 report by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Thailand is the most deadly overseas tourist destination for Australians.

In the 2016-17 financial year, the Consular State of Play report said there were 203 Australian deaths in Thailand, almost double the 126 deaths recorded in the Philippines, the second highest.

Thailand also topped the list of hospitalisations, 195, and missing persons reports, 74.

Having watched the video, it didn't happen in the toilet but in the bar. The guy pinched the backside of someone's girlfriend and the boyfriend 'lost it' lunging with a knife which appeared to be a stab in the side.

The real question here is 'Why was this guy carrying a knife in the first place? Did he expect trouble?'

He was aware that many bad people are hanging around.

Because he hasn't figured out how to cut food with a spoon.

The real question should be: Why did this Aussi touch a lady, who was not alone. Oh yes, it was about 4 am and was very drunk. Good excuse. If not stabbed, he would be punched or kicked. Next time he should try same with a Thai man. 555

Stupid move on the Ausie guy's part, but it doesn't justify a stabbing, and for those who don't already know, it is actually illegal to carry a knife on you.

I can only imagine the Israeli must be a very insecure sort of guy.

Wrong, it's not illegal to carry a knife, depends on the size. I don't remember the limit, how many cm. ?

Section 371 of the Criminal Code covers it.

'“Weapon” includes an object which is not a weapon by nature but is used or intended to be used in causing any grievous bodily harm as if weapon'

That can cover anything from a gun to a rolling pin!

The Australian man was clearly misbehaving, the Israeli guy had some serious ego issues and did not appreciate the drunk Aussie fondling his girlie's buttocks...all the ingredients were mixed in Pattaya, in a hooker bar at 4am so what social etiquette or decency was left ?

The Israeli definately committed a hideous crime and hope the victim recovers fast. But on deeper thought, how would any of us react if a drunk came over and started to pinch the posterior of either our g/f, wife or daughter ?

Well it seems the report got it all wrong including the victims name. Jayden was a friend and gave a witness report. The victim's name was actually Jeremy McCall. According to his statement he was only 'tapping' the girl to get her attention. She was known to him as a girl his friend was seeing. The police apparently believed his story as other footage showed the girl had been with them all night. The owner of the nightclub has made a cash contribution (with the usual photo-shoot) to help with hospital bills.

The aftermath (and consequences) of molesting, much less using abusing language has to be borne by the molester as in other parts of the world, not only is LOS. Any other means of retaliation by the other aggrieved party either by a knife, rolling pin, bottle, fists etc is justifiable and if it was a Thai guy, this chap can be considered lucky. Let's face the facts.

Let's face the facts.
But it seems the facts were quite different to what was initially reported.

Even if he had drinks with this lady, she later was with another man and he had no reason groping her.
Even if harsh, he got the lesson he deserved and as JayTee wrote, he must be lucky it was not a Thai guy.
