THE SHED

Post by GG »

Stayed in this place recently and was more than dissapointed with it!!!

I have been in better short time rooms in my time!

Although the english manager is a nice guy, and his staff in the bar friendly, the cleaners of the rooms are pisstakers!!!!

None of the rooms have en-suite facilities, the bathroom (joke), is across the hallway outside your room, and the sink was actually in the corridor!

The state of the bathroom when I arrived was terrible (overflowing wastepaper bins next to the toilet, pubic hairs everywhere, blocked plughole with long hair, old used tablets of soap congealing on the broken tiled floor....you get the picture now?).

It was 450bt per night, but not worth 50bt!!!

Will never be coming back or recommending this hellhole to anyone.

Nice to see a positive and happy introduction to the forum by someone who is clearly a bundle of fun to be around.

Not sure whether we can let this one run yet since the establishment do sponsor this website.

In the meantime, did you even attempt to bring your grievances up with the management of the establishment to give them a chance? You mentioned the rate, yes probably one of the cheapest rooms in town (which is no excuse for poor service I hasten to add) but if you wanted the Hilton you know where it is.

Sir Buksida,

The fact is he's a great guy but tends to tell it as it is  He was booked into the Shed partly because it was a sponsor of this board.

We had also tried to get into Catwoman and did succeed with finding rooms in Goannas.

I do not think the price has anything to do with it, we did not search for cheap rooms, just central ones that were guest friendly.

Goannas at 800 baht may have had en-suite to justify the difference in price , however they were spotlessly clean and I do mean spotless :D Great staff, good food, what more could you ask.

No-one was seeking a palace at that price, but I for one believe there is little excuse for failure to clean your establishment.

As for removing his comments/post that is your right. However a good businessman would be seeking to address his points not have them covered up.

Sir Dog,
I guess its human nature to bitch about something rather than do something about it, I am guilty of this myself. Maybe he holds HHAD responsible. :?

Totally agree, I'll bring it to the owners attention.

Spot on there too, lets hope they are addressed.

Been there a couple of nights last year when the former owner and his lovely wife were still in. They had the help of a nive LB who carred for everything from cleaning rooms to preparing food. The picture I remember was not the one mentionned above ... seems that he-she left when they did ... :?

You are in part 100% correct :D for his part he should have made a point of bringing it to their attention. However like the majority of us, he advoided doing so as he was out for a good time and did not want to start the party off with an aurgument. I tried to get him to move and offered to cover the costs involved but again we only had a limited number of hours and all felt we would rather spend them in a positive manner

His comments were not a dig at the board, just telling it as he saw it.

I felt guilty, as I had arranged the rooms. To be factual, I booked Goannas with Perente and he was kind enough to locate two further rooms for me. Do I hold him blame? not at all, as I am sure having met him, that he acted in good faith.

GG may have been blunt in his comments about the Shed but no more so than my own remarks about Goannas.

I can also confirm that there was a problem with the state of the bathroom area here, late November as my gf would not stay after inspecting, not realising that there was no en-suite. Didn't realise at the time the price was so low, she just wanted to have a change from PP Villa after the floods moved her out for a week or so.

Spent four nights there recently - clean, friendly, no problem!

OK the facilities are simple, but this place is great value.

Will return!
I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly...

Would seem that the management reacted to the original post. I guess there will have been a lesson learned there.
