Now back in the UK. The Fulay is very freindly and I paid 350bt low season for a nice room with a fan, cold shower and scoop flush toilet. Air and TV rooms were available for 750bt
However the bizzare thing about the Fulay is that it is built on a wooden pier on the beach and during high tide you get the sound of the sea underneath the floor.Found it a little hard to get to sleep. Also, it is entirley made of wood and I only saw two fire hydrants. Suppose you could jump in the sea if it got alight. Shared the room with a couple of malang saeps (cockroaches) but easily killed. All in all, OK, but would try a guesthouse on dry land next time.

Larry, nice report on the Guesthouse
I heard that the Fu lay was a good choice but I tend to get a bit sea sick especially after a few 'bevys' :? , did you notice what is the hotel across the road (on dry land) under the same name was like ??
I'm visting HH next month.

Kingfish
Thanks for the recommendation and advise.
I will definately give the 'land based' Fulay a try next month.
How much did you pay for a room per night and did you book in advance?

PS. I did note from other posts on this board that you are a West Ham supporter and therefore am totally confident in your judgement and good taste.

It depends on the room & the length of your stay.

I booked in advance for 3 weeks & used the place as a base.I paid 750B a night( payment is cash only).

My friends stayed for one night that cost 1000B but it was a bigger room.

As we share the same birthplace best we arrange to have a few beers?

Kingfish,
The price sounds right, I'll give them a call and book a room. Thanks for the info.
I'm arriving in Bangkok late on Nov 16th plan to be in HH on the 17th but I'm meeting an old mate in Bangkok for a piss-up so chances are I will not make HH till the 18th.
Would be a pleasure to tip a few(or more) jars with you,Kingfish.
You seem like you know the lie of the land in HH, name a place and time on the 18th and I'll be there. :D

Hello
Tried to get a room last weekend and it was fully booked. I think better to do a reservation befor !! Its low season but some places a very busy.
I think Fulay GH has now a good name. After that I moved to London Lounge which is also very nice. New big rooms with nice furniture !!

Greetings

No, that email is not affiliated with the guesthouse, I suggest you try one of the phone numbers above.
