Sand Inn quality and location

Post by LaughTilIDie »

So I just booked a flight to HH end of August for 10 days and was wondering about the Sand Inn (or New Sand Inn). I searched the forum but found nothing recent. Can anyone give me a clue if this is a nice place to stay? Nearby walking distance nightlife and beach would be great.

There is a comprehensive list of budget accommodation on here the Sand inn is on the second noisiest soi.
From the list I would recommend personally the Thipurai City hotel in Soi Kanjanmai.

It's within your budget roof top pool great views and a great steak house down stairs I have stayed there a couple of times and its in the heart of down town.

There is another hotel named Thipurai Beach but that's located on the main drag through the town on the Petchkasem Road and not near to the beach area.

I know you have looked at the "Where Best To Stay" thread that I posted a fair few recommendations for so I won't repeat post that out of respect to the forum and admin.

Good luck with you're choice and enjoy your holiday. :thumb:

There are a number of sites to check in regards to hotels. I my self would not stay at the Sand Inn and send an extra 300-500 baht for a nicer place.

Yep, agree with above, past it's best. I booked for 2 weeks about 5 years ago and I only stayed one night.

Thank you all for your feedback. It's not so much a discounted hotel I'm looking for, it's more like I'm looking for something a little local. I've traveled a bit for business and personal and stayed at Hilton and numerous suite inns but they all seem so impersonal or like I say, plastic. I like idea of the roof top pool at Thipurai City Hotel to nurse a hangover. This should be a good starting place for my first weekend in HH.
Thanks again

If you choose the Citin Loft be careful with your money, We used to stay all the time but a large amount of money went missing from the safety deposit box, reported it to the manager but he would not show us the CCTV. He accused the girlfriend for taking the money. Not the first time this has happened we were told afterwards. A good hotel but the manager???? :banghead:
Try the Initial on 94, we stay there now, great hotel and big rooms.

caller & all sorry must have been a brain fart. I'll search more ofter before putting foot in mouth.

kirkyboy thank you and sorry to hear. May I ask, is this a more prevalent problem, having items taken from your room? I searched but found very little other than your post.

Hi Laughtilidie: The Citin Loft is a great location but the roof top pool is only a vinyl lined small pool and the big rusky girls get up there and sunbake, not a good sight. Give it a try but be careful with where you put your money. We were very disapointed when we left because we had stayed there for about 3 years twice a year. As stated before, we love the Initial and are back again for a month in July.
