Very, very close to action

Post by Tom4u »

Walking being a significant chore, could someone suggest a guesthouse or room truely in the middle of the action? Perhaps in the 500 to 900 B range. Thanks. This would be in the August-Sept time frame.

I have always thought that Phueng Guest House is one of the better deals in town. It's just around the corner from Burger King, beside the Bank of Ayudyha.
They have big fan rooms from 300 baht, up to nice air-con rooms with fridge for 500-600 baht. All have cable TV, there is a small swimming pool, and all rooms are clean & pleasant.

Or theres "baan pak" which is right on soi bintabaht, rooms from 300 baht. Cant get any closer to the action than that unless you sleep in a bar!

Yeh, okay but if you stay right on Bintabaht every one knows exactly what you have been or are doing, if you know what I mean.
What are the rooms actually like there?

I've stayed at Bann Pac the rooms are OK, on the small side. They have lock boxes for valuables. As mentioned your buisness is hard to keep private there, but you can get a cool bevvie in any direction outside the front door!!

Tom4u, see my previous post re the Sukwilai Guesthouse - couldn't be closer to the action, but as previously mentioned that can bring it's own drawbacks.

Previous post is under Accomodation and Girlfriendly Hotels.

Alleykat/Gin Tonic - want to start a separate thread re keeping your sanuk away from the Bintabaht grapevine? I've stayed in the Sukwilai quite a few times but seriously thinking of trying somewhere off the soi next time. Reckon a discussion could be in order...

Several within a block or so, if you don't want to be right on the soi (sounds excessive to me).

Don't recall names (I'm out-of-state right now), but there really are quite a few available. Walk around.
