So Roberto, Tropical Hill has been plagued with burgalries, to my knowledge there has been one, in the last 18 months.

Roberto,
Of course I don't want a shop or bar in my living room, but I do get fed up driving everywhere. The estates out of town are Ok but it would be nice to be able to walk to a bar or a shop rather than always drive. If you have spent a lot of time commuting before moving to Hua hin then driving is not that attractive a prospect every day. I don't want to drink every day but when I fancy a beer and some company to be able to walk to a bar or clubhouse is, for me, something I like to do.
I think you have answered your original question yourself ie
How important is a bar and a shop and full time security.
I believe you are asking the forum to advise what they consider to be the best estates in HH with reasons, specifically when advising what the respondent classes as a 'best estate', also advise do the estates have a bar, a shop and full time security; and also to rate those features. Not a question that I feel qualified to answer (only being an occassional visitor to these estates), but I'm sure now that you've clarified the question the forum will assist with your request.

Please don't be put off by what, at first glance, appeared to be some abrupt replies. My experience of this forum is that it is very good, but can only answer the question presented. If asking a question, always take some time to preview it, and make sure it is actually saying what you want it to say.

I think its almost an impossible question to answer!

Someone who lives far out through choice might say theirs is, someone nearer town will have their preferences, then theres the cost, and all sorts of other preferences, no. of holiday homes v fully occupied, those never finished v those that are, those that have a leisure facility against those.........

Factor in good and bad build experience before and after completion and how long have you got!

It goes on and on.

I've not come across one with a bar, but I've seen a few near bars/food places.

Roberto,

You give your location as Hua Hin.

Can I suggest that you visit a selection of Estate Agents, obtain as much information as you require and then spend some of your precious time driving from Estate to Estate.

That way you can see what kind of houses are available, the facilities in the area and whether it suits you or not.

If you want a pub and a shop in the vicinity, the Estate Agents will probably tell you which Estates fit the bill, so you can then make an informed choice, having checked the place out.

Maybe that's too much trouble and you'd rather sit in your currently local bar all day asking similar questions.

Why can't you make the effort.

Why can't you differentiate the B*llsh** from the facts at the Estate Agents.

When are you going to validate your alleged fact about Burglaries in Hua Hin.

Digger,

I need to come to Norsemans defence.

The OP asked a stupid question in asking how important is a pub and a shop in a housing development.

Would you be happy if a pub opened up next to you in your current location.

If you live in a town, it probably wouldn't matter too much. If it was happening in the middle of a residential housing estate, it probably does matter.

It's all down to circumstances and how you ask the question, as has already been mentioned.

Norseman is certainly prolific in his postings.

Some are totally rubbish and lifts/variants from elsewhere.

Some are informative, some boring and some are cheeky or taking the mickey a bit.

I suspect the comments referred to were in the latter category.

The point I'm making is, that if we waited until we all had something very profound or important to say (and I include myself in this), then we'll be waiting for a while, and this forum, like all the others would grind to a halt.

I spoke to three owners who had been burgled in tropical hill 1 and 2, one done twice in the last 6 months and that was just people in the new bar restaurant up there, they referred to other burglaries too. I am happy to update your knowledge Limey

Burglaries

If you want to find out more ask the cops who arrested several of the labourers working on site, one swedish bloke had his safe taken the day after it was installed and he put the safe in after the first burglary
