Condo glut in Cha-am likely to persist

Post by Ratsima »

Bangkok Post: Condo glut in Cha-am likely to persist
As of the first quarter of 2024, the condo supply in Cha-am tallied 9,420 units worth a combined 42 billion baht, with a sales rate of 66%.
As a result, more than 3,200 units worth 14.3 billion baht remain unsold.

<snip>

Charn Issara had 491 units worth 1.87 billion baht remaining unsold at one of its Thew Talay projects
I have a unit at Thew Talay. Most days it's like ghost town.

The single biggest project is The Energy - I don’t know how many units remain unsold but that too, is like a ghost town most of the time.

I wonder how many units remain unsold at The Ghost Town Energy, or Seaside City as it has been re-branded.

Is that Hua Hin or Cha-Am? If Hua Hin, it must put the 'Robust' into doubt.

I cycle and walk by there fairly often and rarely see anyone. I can't imagine anyone would take a look at it and actually want to live or stay there. It has that Soviet apartment block vibe.

I think it was originally advertised as Hua Hin.

That's the technique, isn't it. Even the Shell station at Thew Talay calls itself Hua Hin One.

I’m certain that as boundaries go, The Energy is in Cha Am rather than Hua Hin but they call them whatever they want to depending on who the target audience is.
