I guess the position is open to foreigners but who would really go through all the effort of getting a work permit and visa for a job that pays $100 per month?

Besides the minimum wage for a foreigner is 50k .... I cant see a bar paying that unless you're the manager of one of the 5 star hotel F&B departments.

Theoretically the girlie bar work is just a cover for prostitution ... which as we know is illegal in Thailand.

Unless you were asking about boys and I've taken your post the wrong way

Oh well I was just interested in meeting girls maybe from Burma or Laos or Cambodia.
Do you think this would be possible in HH?

I think you'll find that difficult. Thailand's always cracking down on people from these countries working illegally here. Bars used to have to keep copies of the girls' ID cards to show the police that underage, or illegals were not being employed.
I'm not sure if that's still required, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

Not only Thai ladies who allowed to working in the bar, and no law in Thailand allowed to the girls to make money on that job, but many girls just do it anyway, I am sure many girls from other country are working in the bar too (drink in the bar pretend to be a customer after they got the man they think they can get money off -then they are gone off to bed)….don’t you wondered?
And many times I have seen young foreigners did that, but i never think it all bad as some of girls might like to - as it might be fun for her too.
Anyway - that is them job and not every one can get a good chance to get a good job - so i dont says they are bad if they have to. ...IF THEY REALLY HAVE TO.

THE CRAZY CRAZY WORLD.

I see what you're saying Oe, but no Cambodian, Burmese girl etc can work in a bar without a work permit that may be rather difficult to obtain bearing in mind the "underground" nature of the job.
Just like a farang cannot technically serve a customer with a beer even if they have a properly formed company and work permit.
There's a huge list of jobs that are only available for Thais. Bar work of a menial nature is one.
