Ventolin is available here and it is cheap. I have asthma so I don't know about the other two.

Contact these guys https://www.facebook.com/pages/South-Ea ... 7984291405 . They will tell you exactly what is available, and give you a good guide on what it should cost. I've used them several times, and found them excellent.

Symbicort runs you 1400-1600bt for a 120 dose turbuhaler, no prescription required.
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

Thanks for the replies.
Symbicort (120 dose 160 / 4.5) & Spiriva (month course) cost, where I live, 2,400 bt for each and Ventolin is 340 bt.

Can anyone advise the best chemist / pharmacy in Hua Hin where I can get good discounts if I buy 3 month supply at a time. Myself and my wife take regular daily meds. Thanks in advance

I always use G Supermarket in Bon Kai. I'm not sure about discounts - they're cheap anyway. If they haven't got something, they will get within 24 hours.

Hi BB thanks for the reply. Bit lost as to where the G Supermarket is. By the way found the license center very easy after your directions.

There are a couple. The main one is just over the crazy railway crossing (Soi 70). 150 yards on the left.

Probably easier for you to find, and where my smaller branch gets their stock from, so less chance of them not having stock.

The same company has pharmacies at various places around town as well. The company is Gee An Tung (not necessarily spelt like that in English - it's จี้อันตึ๊ง in Thai) (Hence G-House, G-supermarket, G other stuff - Old established company in Hua Hin). There's one opposite the market (Chatchai Market) on Phetkasem Road, corner of Hua Hin 55/2. There's also a smaller one in the night market street, I think.

Recently had a friend from Australia who needed a seritide accuhaler (forgot to pack it) tried about 5 pharmacies without a result. Finally managed to get one that was well within time and a reasonable price from the pharmacy located near the entrance to Tesco Lotus in market village.

The link below will be useful for you when trying to find a particular brand of inhaler:

http://patient.info/health/inhalers-for ... d-steroids

Most inhalers for COPD and asthma are now beyond their patent life and the original brand names of Ventolin or Seretide are more commonly known by their global generic names: salbutamol and a combination of salmeterol and fluticasone, respectively. The old branded ones are still available but not widely and will be many times the price of the generics. For this condition and with these well-known and easy to manufacture drugs you can consider the generics to be near-identical as to make no difference.

In the developing world (and much of the Western world where drugs are paid for by central government or insurance companies) generic prescribing is mandatory except in very rare circumstances or where the patient wants to pay the premium for the branded products. Most pharmacies in Thailand would have little knowledge of a Ventolin inhaler but they will have various generic versions of salbutamol.
