Care for the elderly service?

Post by seasides »

More and more pensioners from overseas are spending the winter months in the Hua Hin area. Some homes for the elderly already exist, but is anyone aware of an outsourcing service that provides nurses and day-to-day help for people who need assistance for shopping, basic medical needs and so forth?

When my father needed help we shipped in a nurse from BKK to live in. We got her from an agency and she cost about B 13,000 per month from what I can remember

Hi. I'm looking for a full-time live in nurse to take care of my 88 year old grandfather. Could I know which agency in Bangkok provides nurses?

Thanks.

Sorry that agency is now closed, but we used Google to find one.

Why just go to Hua-Hin Hospital and ask one or two of the nurses if they are interested, or if they know of someone who is? If you pay a better salary than what they are currently getting then I'm sure you will strike it lucky. Keep in mind though that nurses and their families are entitled to free medical care, and that's a perk which you might find difficult to beat.

The other alternative is Lotus Well on Mon mai, it's a nursing/retirement home for wealthy Austrian and Swiss. They employ a large number of Nurses and from my experience they tend to know each other. They might let you put a message up on the staff notice board or something?
