Quitting smoking with acupuncture
Quitting smoking with acupuncture
I've smoked for many years, have quit many times, but always go back to it. I've talked with people that seem to have good, permanent results, using acupuncture. I want to try this method. Can anyone that has tried to quit smoking using acupuncture please share your experience ? Also, can I get suggestions of where in Hua Hin I can receive this treatment ? Suggestions and shared experiences will be greatly appreciated.

Never smoked, so can't recommend anybody, but I know they do a lot of that treatment at Hua Hin Hospital - a very popular clinic.

If you want to quit smoke with acupuncture (or other way) I suggest you start to get down in doses.
When I stopped smoke, I simply smoke later and later each day, coz once you had the first cig during the day, you "hooked" that day.
Another way are to reduce smoke with E-cigarette (I know "forbidden" forbidden in Thailand) and then use 2 cig´s, one with nicotine and one without.
When just old habit, you vape no nicotine and when body scream for nicotine, then smoke that.
After 2-3 month you should be able quit your smoke and if not, then use acupuncture for the remaining addiction.
Make sure you get a good e liquid, to vape cost like 10 % of normal smoking and much more healthy.
Don't start use gum and plaster.
Wish you luck.

Re: Quitting smoking with acupuncture
Unfortunately there isn't a formula that works for everyone.
I have smoked for 35 years and allways loved it but when they maked all the rules about smoking in restaurant, bars, hotels etc.the pleasure was fading away since my job incude a lot of travelling around in DK.
I have try to stop few times but always felt in the water after a couple of month because I was not ready mental.
3 1/2 years ago I said it was enough staying outside smoking and get the indulgently looks from the healht fanatic which is seems to rule the world at the moment, there were also a few other reason I would stop ,but the main reason was it was more and more difficult to enjoy the sin in a manner that suits me.
My experencive is that you must be 100 % ready and clear that you want to stop,no acupuncture ,bublegum or anything can help you if your not ready and commited to stop.
The first year I used e-cigaret when I was out for a beer because that was the I got the setback before and when I was 100 % sure I stoped using that to and now I haven't touch a cig for 3 1/2 years and don't miss it a all.
But again read my first line and good luck and fight to you.

Re: Quitting smoking with acupuncture
Hi mate ,this is my first post but one I know a bit about ,I have been smoking for id say 40 years now and had numerous attempts to try to quit ,one of which was acupuncture ,unfortunately I was still in the forces then and being in the field at the time didn't help and so I continued to smoke ,a someone else has said there is no one trick to stop for everyone.
At the present time I am using one of the illegal methods mentioned here but if you have no luck with your acupuncture maybe google what your looking for and you will find a forum for people in Thailand .I wont mention the name of the forum but youll find it easy enough .I have tried to quit and fallen of the log so many times I feel like an apprentice log roller in Canada but never stop trying is my moto , maybe not this time or the next but you will eventually stop "when they nail the coffin lid shut " No only joking good luck with your efforts .

I smoked for about 13 years and one day drank a bottle of vodka whilst smoking 40 cigarettes during a visit to the in-laws. Woke up in the morning and viewed the flotsam & jetsam debris of the sin session from the previous day/night (empty bottle/full ash trays etc.) and there and then just said to myself "It's time to stop."
That day was about 8 years ago and haven't smoked anything at all since then and have felt no desire to either.
I agree with the poster above that said you have to be 100% ready to do it, clear with yourself you want to, realistic about what's involved regards will-power etc. and having a good reason to do it (like living longer with your family) helps with the motivation side of things. I actually found it (quitting) easier than I expected because I was determined that I was done with it and had the mental side of it squared away. However, I think it's similar to other things in life insofar as if it's important enough to you to get it done then it does get done somehow and you'll find a way (even if it's costly).
Best move I made other than marrying the woman that I have. Still drink too much though but I'm not going to let the lifestyle fascists get to me too much.
