Medical check-up package at Hua Hin hospital

Post by Bilbo52 »

Does anyone have recent experience of the medical check-up that can be had at HH hospital (near soi 10)? I have been told that it involves blood and pee tests. Just wondering how much and was it useful? Elsewhere on this board someone posted something about an a la carte type pick list for the tests you want doing. Anyone have an idea of the tests that can be peformed and their costs (from the blood and urine samples)?

In advance many thanks

Just go to the foreign service desk, and they will give you a menu of what tests they will do.

If you've been doing this annually and know what the tests mean and what your numbers were last year, you don't really need a doctor unless something has changed dramatically. So in that case you can just get the blood and urine tests (any that you want) done cheaply at the Hua Hin Lab on the Pala U road. They give you the test results back in a little booklet that shows the normal range and point out anything that needs looking into with a doctor (if there is anything). Easy, cheap, and fast.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Thanks to you both, when I get round to it (next handful of weeks) I will report back and post my experience.

me and the wife had tests done a couple of months ago at the Hua Hin Hospital, very easy, the male nurse spoke good English. they will give you a form with all kinds of tests that can be done, you tick what you want done, all are priced individually and he will take you to every department you need to go to. After a few hours you go back and they will have the results you can then go to see a doctor who can explain what all the numbers mean. very good and not expensive.
they even emailed some of the test results that took a month to come through. All in English !

Do you need an appointment or can you just turn up early morning? I was going to use BKK hospital but it seems that Hua Hin will perform the same tests for a much cheaper rate!

When I had my medical a year ago, I just turned up at Hua Hin Hospital and put myself in the 'Foreign Customer Service'. I was escorted to all departments in pretty quick time put to the front of every queue (which is a bit embarrassing). Back down to the office to await the doctor who goes through the results with you and that was that. All done in around 2 - 3 hours which included dozens of tests. Cost was around 3,000 baht from memory. Excellent service.

A good friend had a battery of tests done in BKK at Bumrungrad (SP?) and they gave him a disc copy of results, x-rays, etc. Thought that was a good idea in case of second opinions, etc. Was anything like that available?

I know this thread is over three years old but has anyone gone recently? Any links to the packages they offer? Copy of the flyers?

And before some wiseass tells me to Google it, I did and it sent me to this thread!

Looking forward to any useful replies as I'm on precisely the same case....

This is where you need to go - probably the most comfortable hospital in Hua Hin - excellent service.

Here are the check up prices. If you go through the Express Premium Clinic you will pay a premium price (extra 200 - 500 baht), but the experience should be better.

The hospital web site is pretty poor and this page is no exception. To stop it panning back and forth just tap it anywhere, then use the side arrows to swap between pages. It's in Thai but the check-up tables are Thai and English.

Thanks for that, looks like nearly everything can be done with a blood test.
