Do you need to get hold of some? Personally I find beer is the best memory eraser for me!

Sorry, just kidding but you asked for that (this is the 'Foo' section after all)!

If rohypnol is the date rape drug for women, beer must be the date rape drug for men. Maybe that's why bargirls are in bars.

Heard one instance about 2 years ago but it was from a BG and could have been rubbish. If you need thaty drug here there is something seriously wrong.

If you have difficulty getting Rohypnol try about 10 mogadon I believe it gives the same affect. Seriously though I have never heard of it here.

Wrong forum, sorry.

Where should I post this for serious responses?

No, I'm not looking to score. Just need some info to figure out if intervention might be required in a recent situation.

Yes, I've looked on the WWW. I am now fairly knowledgeable, but I'm aiming to be specific to this area.

To be serious for a moment I have never heard of it here but have heard all the usual stories of Pattaya etc....
I would not worry unduly if you are comming to Hua Hin.

I have a friend who probably was served something like a "date rape drug" by the bar in the Hilton disco. A nice girl offered to let him take a sip out of her very blue drink in order to check it out before he was to order something.

He was sober but have no memories after that. The girl didn't want his body, though, but his computer, a digital camera, a bag and some other things in his condo apartment, where he woke up the next day, dry and white in his mouth.

The police didn't make much of an investigation, they said straight out that they believed he made the story up because "european insurance is very good".

I also know of a man who woke up on the beach near Khao Takiab after drinking one (1) beer in one of the karaoke bars near Hilton. Money and telephone was gone, but his sim-card was left in his pocket (!).

Both of these incidents happened last February.

I have not heard of any girl being served anything and then getting sexually abused. I suppose one reason can be that sex in one form or the other is always easily available here. Not even a potential rapist needs to rape, I guess.

Thanks, Randy.

I live here. I am concerned. Not for myself - I'm a 52 year old falang - but am concerned for my son.

Puzzle pieces don't fit for a period of time, and they should. The situation is baffling and a bit frightening.

Again, I chose the wrong forum for this topic.

Okay, that's what I'm wanting to know. Thanks very much, Gutte.

So, something can happen that requires finesse, and the finesse can be pulled off and not remembered? Not like hypnosis where it is said that you won't do something your conscience doesn't allow for.

I wonder as I write, can two successive amounts be given back to back, with double the amount of blackout time?

Would this topic get more attention elsewhere? If so, perhaps the MOD could move it?

It was moved out of "Foo" where you originally posted it into "Health Issues" where it may get a more serious response.

Date Rape Drug

Post by shaneofski »

A few years back when I was living in Hua Hin, Tim, the then owner of a guesthouse, was approached by a Farang guy who was staggering up the street from the direction of the beach.

He was extremely disorientated and was asking Tim where he was... what town. He explained that his girlfriend was in a guesthouse unconscious and he had no recollection of checking in or even coming to Hua Hin.

He remembers going on a "guided shopping trip" in Bangkok, drinking something.. and after that he has a vague memory of signing all his travellers cheques while being propped up by some Thais.

It seems they drugged him and his girlfriend, had them sign the cheques and then took them to Hua Hin, told the people at reception that they were very tired and paid a couple of nights acommodation. They were left penniless....

Don't accept drinks from strangers..

Suzanne,

Maybe a few more details in your original post would have avoided the confusion.

I have never heard of date rape in Thailand in the case of a man using the drug on a woman. However some quite disturbing things reach my ears often weeks after they have happened.

I have heard many time of men picking up girls and being drugged and stolen from. One was very recently but not here in Hua Hin.

I am sure that a search for "date rape drug" will give you loads of info. You will then have to filter through to find what you want.

As you have left it so long so far I think you will get no response from the authorities here especially if the alleged crime took place by Thai on a Farang.

Suzanne,

When I made the last reply I did not see your later response. As has been said already there are cases that would indicate that drugs are available that render people unconcious or even concious but submissive. These will obviously work on both females and males.

I have known of two many cases of it happening to men in South East Asia to mention. Other posters here have heard similar stories. The first one I was made aware of was twenty years ago. Drugs have become more sophisticated since then.

The most recent story I heard was of an Irish man who went to Bangkok and went out for a few beers one night. The next recollection he had was two days later waking up in his hotel room. He had had money stolen and money removed from his bank via the ATM card. Somehow during that period of memory loss he claims to have managed to get to a travel agent and secure his return ticket to Ireland. He does not remember taking any girl back to his room and the hotel were of no help.

He may not be telling the truth about taking a girl back but I believe the rest was true as I could see the state of shock he was in when he returned to Hua Hin.

With most drugs there would be nothing to stop someone administering multiple doses if the victim was under their control. They are like a kind of chemical hypnosis. You will definitely find more on the web if you have the patience to filter through all the crap including people trying to peddle the shit.

I'm pretty sure it happened to me and my ex a nunber of years ago in BKK.
We were strolling around a few bars. I'd had 5/6 beers and she'd had one G&T and one beer. At the last bar, things started getting out of hand very quickly and one girl was telling my ex to go away so she could take me home. I was only just aware of what was happening. Managed to get away. Neither of us was going to be able to walk back to the hotel, so got a taxi. She fell out of it when we arrived at the hotel and we made it to our room.
The next morning, both of us felt dreadful. Yes, we'd had a drink, but nowhere near enough to warrant the effect on us.
