Just joined, its was the "snakes alive" that did it, cant stand the things and I have just purchased a house in HH. Don't want them in my garden ! :guns:

I shouldn't worry too much. I'm sure that with all the banging and clattering that's been going on for however long, the poor critters uped and left a long time ago.
Bit tounge in cheek that, but you are coming to Thailand, so snakes do live here as well.

Don't worry essbee.
More than 5 weeks has passed since I last had to kick out a snake from my property.
Their not as common as you think.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Use an old Boy Scout trick: sprinkle powdered sulphur around the perimeter of your property. The snakes are very sensitive to smell and do not like sulphur. You should be able to buy this at almost any pharmacy. The Thai word for sulphur is ¡ÓÃ

Now that is a great piece of advice! In residential areas cleanliness is really important - if its dirty with rubbish all over, the rats will come - then the snakes will follow for their dinner!
