Premier League 2011-2012
I'm 2 days late as started last year's thread on June 6. Transfers are becoming active, so here's the first one I've read about. Pete

Liverpool and Sunderland agree Jordan Henderson deal
Liverpool and Sunderland have agreed a deal thought to be worth about £20m for midfielder Jordan Henderson.
The 20-year-old England international will travel to Liverpool for a medical and to discuss personal terms.
"A fee has been agreed with Liverpool for Jordan Henderson and he travels to Anfield with the club's blessing," said a Sunderland statement.
Sunderland had rejected Liverpool's previous offer for the player, which was thought to be worth £16m.
The Anfield club hope a deal can be finalised before Henderson joins England's Under-21 squad on Wednesday for the European Championships.
Striker David Ngog, 22, could move in the opposite direction as part of the deal, but that is yet to be confirmed.
The Sunderland-born Henderson, who had a loan spell at Coventry City early in his career and signed a five-year contract at The Stadium of Light in April 2010.
He came to prominence as Steve Bruce's Black Cats made a fine start to the season and was rewarded with an England call-up by coach Fabio Capello.

79 appearances for Sunderland (12 as substitute); five goals
13 loan appearances for Coventry
He won his first full England cap in the friendly defeat by France at Wembley in November.
And even though his form dipped as Sunderland struggled in the second half of the campaign, Henderson is still regarded as one of England's brightest young prospects.
Manchester United had been regarded as the long-time favourites to sign Henderson after he made an outstanding start to last season, but their interest cooled and manager Sir Alex Ferguson has moved on to other midfield targets.
Henderson's potential acquisition fits in with Liverpool's policy under Dalglish, director of football Damien Comolli and owners Fenway Sports Group to pursue young, and preferably English, talent.
Ipswich's teenage striker Connor Wickham and Blackburn Rovers defender Phil Jones are also believed to be Anfield targets.

Blackburn's Phil Jones set for Manchester United move
Blackburn defender Phil Jones is set to join Manchester United in a deal worth up to £17m.
The England Under-21 centre-half is having a medical with the Premier League champions, after turning down offers from Arsenal and Liverpool.
Jones only made his Premier League debut in March last year but has made a big impact in his first full season.
The 19-year-old was due to travel to Denmark with the under-21s on Wednesday for the European Championship.
Jones will not find it easy to disrupt United's first-choice centre-back pairing of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, while Chris Smalling and Jonny Evans are also competing for places at the heart of Sir Alex Ferguson's defence.
But he impressed as Blackburn ended their season with a four-game unbeaten run, which included a 1-1 draw with United and wins over Bolton and Wolves, to ensure their Premier League survival.
Jones, who was born in Preston, joined Blackburn's youth set-up in 2002, making his debut in a Carling Cup win at Nottingham Forest in September 2009. His first Premier League appearance came six months later in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Ewood Park.
United striker Wayne Rooney reacted to the news by writing on Twitter: "Phil Jones is a good young English player. One of the toughest defenders I played against last season. Can play midfield too."
He added: "I don't know if Phil Jones is signing for us, just saying he is a good player that's all. I haven't got a clue if he is signing or not."
The defender has made 35 appearances in total for Blackburn but has yet to score for the club.

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
Phil Jones has now completed his 17m GBP move to Manchester United.
The 19 year old has signed a five year deal and, despite interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, has said he was only ever interested in signing for United !
Sez it all really......what a mature, well balanced young man !

I see that Liverpool have joined the vultures circling Home Park. They've signed (stolen) Lloyd Jones for a song. I suppose the bright side is that Lloyd will start getting a pay packet every month again.

Nothing to do with the 80K a week then?

I presume we just bid to push the fee up because as we know, Kenny always kicks Fergies ass.

Very difficult start for the new season for Arsenal. First three matches
Newcastle away, Liverpool home and Manu away. Looking forward to nine points from them.

QPR back in Prem at last! It was a long 15 years, I'm happy with that for now, although seeing QPR mentioned in relation to some quality transfer targets would be nice...

Nice to see that other clubs really appreciate what great players we have.BaaBaa. wrote:Looks like Modric is off.
BaaBaa have you recovered from us giving you a good hiding? That 2-0 win at Anfield was the highlight of the season. Now that's something to laugh at

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
^^ Now, now JG - it's not fair to extract the Michael. Obviously we don't want to see Modric go, but let's say Spurs did sell him for 30 million - then we could buy 3 strikers all better than Carroll...
What I do like is that Modric seems to tell it like it is - if Spurs are happy with an offer, he's prepared to talk. None of this shirt-kissing "My heart is here for ever" crap that many top players come out with while touting for a better job.

Are these 3 mythical £10 million strikers also better than Suarez?
