Fantasy Premiere League 2014-15

Post by PeteC »

I'll start this for Bamboo simply to have a place to say that I'm really going to have a hard time this season with all the new names. I've never seen transfers like this, and they're not finished yet given the open wallet United apparently has. It will take many matches to come to grips with it all.

In any event, I'm in this year Bamboo. :thumb: Pete

I opened the league one or two weeks ago so it's possible to join it already. You can do as many changes as you wish until the opening day. League's name is Hua Hin Forum and the code to join it 105786-31692. If you played last season, you wll join it automatically once you have build your team.

I had a quick look at my previous seasons. I usually aim to reach the 2000 point mark and it's what I have done regularly every second season. Time to break that record now. I can also see that the level of the competition has gone higher as years go by. Season 2009/10 I hit my record: 2191 and finished 84558th. Last season was only ten points lower but my final rand was 351564th.

Season Points Rank
2006/07 1829 88315
2007/08 2002 171569
2008/09 1794 283866
2009/10 2191 84558
2010/11 1896 301454
2011/12 2010 147363
2012/13 1861 717128
2013/14 2181 351564

The big question is: Can anybody catch Hua Hin United? I, personally, don't think so. Tough but at least Spurs fans will get something out of this season. Otherwise it looks like it's the Ashburton Grove boyz doing ok and the "forgotten but not gone" BaaBaa is still relying on his beloved Scousers to bring him points and the tables show this, too. :D

Any comments on your season 1, Pete?

1 Hua Hin Utd 1,600
2 Bamboo Grove 1,455
3 Wengerball 1,439
4 Redzone Gooners 1,423
5 Greenwood 1,363
6The Enniscrone Pig 1,344

11 Eastern Front 1,259
12lastagain? 1,123
13 Inglorious Basterds 1,097
14 Dans Demons 1,081
15 Madrid Spurs 1,053
16 Eric 1,026

I think it's season #3....I skipped last year. The only secret IMO is to transfer your guts out at every opportunity....and be lucky! Having said that, you arrive at a point (at least I have) where you really want to see how the team you've picked and become attached to does over the season. This of course goes against the reason you're playing in this sort of league in the first place. Regardless, it's fun. Pete

I forgot to make changes this week, a colossal error :banghead: probably costing me about 30/40 points :cuss: :(

Still in the CL qualifying places though. :D

Have to agree, Hua Hin Utd are gonna take some catching, not impossible, but highly unlikely.

Well the season is over tonight and I give a suggestion and recommendation for next season - look into joining a Fantasy Football Forum because they give gtreat advice and can make the selection job a lot easier eg Fantasy Football 247
good luck

Congratulations to winners Hua Hin United who left the second placed Wengerball 163 points behind. Very impressive. For me, I consider a season to be good if I get 2000 points. It didn't happen this season. The winners seem to be supporting Spurs so their season wasn't altogether that bad. At least the next three teams seem to have connection to Arsenal. Last season's winners, Redzone Gooners were able to finish in the last champions' league spot. Thanks all, see you again shortly.

1 Hua Hin Utd 2,189
2 Wengerball 2,026
3 Bamboo Grove 1,942
4 Redzone Gooners 1,878
5 Greenwood 1,835
6 The Enniscrone Pig 1,811
7 Butt....I'm Zinedine 1,792

10 Bangkok Blunderers 1,747
11 Farang Pure Fantasy 1,730
12 lastagain? 1,508
13 Inglorious Basterds 1,496

Yes, congratulations to Hua Hin Utd, well deserved and emphatic winners.

Happy enough to qualify for CL being it was so tough defending my title :D
Look forward to doing battle again next season.
