I doubt the damaged bar(s) will be rebuilt. Most bars are suffering lack of customers especially this time of the year. None can survive on the usual bunch of old farts drinking up their meager pensions. Everything is up for sale. May well be the first step in a renovation process. More fires to come??

Yeah they will be bulldozed, no way IMO they would rebuild beer bars that rent for relatively peanuts. Very possible it's one landowner, too, so I would imagine a hotel like the one just east toward the Hilton.Lung Per wrote:I doubt the damaged bar(s) will be rebuilt. I think some of us guys should do something to help--perhaps offer to take one of these homeless girls into our homes.

I understand that girls were running around the street in their underwear. Oh sorry, that was before the fire.
Re: Big fire down Soi Bintabaat
Having some professional experience of these matters, and judging by the photos, it's clear that this fire was brought under control quite quickly.
The fire at its height could not have blazed for more than about ten minutes without more destruction.
The scene is consistant with a fire starting at the rear ground floor of one of the bars, and chimneying up the stairs. It appears that at first floor level, the bars were either not separate buildings, or had an open roof void without ceilings.

I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I shall be sober and you will still be ugly...

Re: Big fire down Soi Bintabaat
I heard there was also a car in flames around soi 55 about 4am on Thursday night I think it was. Across from All Nations near the Family Mart - anyone know about that incident?
Re: Big fire down Soi Bintabaat
Both Cheers bar and Viking bar used to be the Joy guest house, until the owners put the rent up.
Re: Big fire down Soi Bintabaat
I told the boss of the bar, " Sorry to hear about the fire"
he replied, "Be quiet, it is not until tomorrow" :-)
More seriously, it was good to see there were no bad injuries, just a few Synged Minges.
