There are no Irish bars as such.....

The closest you will get is " El Murphy's "....... Which is at the Hilton end of Soi Selakam.....

You might be thinking about O'Neills.......

That has now changed owners...... And is currently undergoing a revamp.....

I cannot think of anywhere else that would come under the " Irish Pub " banner.....

El murphs. Has an Irish owner sells Guinness and kilkenny, good for sports, very obliging in putting requests on one of many screens. BIG nights when 6nations rugby is on, shows aussie rules and super14 too.
O'Neills has shed its Irish image.

IMHO O'Neills made a mistake in opening up the front of the bar, with the live music blasting out from across the road it was impossible to hear the commentary of the games being shown.

trifca, I am sure that you must be thinking of El Murphys.

IMO O'Neills have made a big mistake in opening the front bar as it is hopeless trying to listen to live sport with the music blasting in from accross the street - I used it for many years but no longer!

Yes, went to El Murphy's last night and the Irish food was OK, my wife said the Thail food was great. Not too noisy but we were there rather early 6ish.... so to be expected. Not too busy for a Friday evening. We enjoyed and will go back again. Thanks to Everyone that replied.

Part of O Neills refit is installing another 7 TV's further down the bar on either side, once you get half way down you no longer hear the music from the London Bar so next season will be OK for footy commentary.

Murphs was medium busy at 9 30 last night but generally the bar area is very quiet. Look carefully, bars have many bargirls but very few paying customers.

Apart from coddle, Irish Stew and various mashes, what exactly is Irish food?

Corn beef and cabbage with a load of mashed potatoes swimming in butter. Then....cold corn beef sandwiches with mustard. Then....corn beef hash. I'm drowning in nostalgia. :D
