I actually see what you mean. I did say 'Completely random violence'. I guess I was suckered in by the title of the post too. A perfect example of how it's necessary not to jump to conclusions and redzonerocker was the man who made that clear. Kudos to him/her. But I can stand by the rest of my comments. Thanks.
About 5 minutes research, in response to your mention of near-racist posts.
And kudos to me for pointing out your error.
And more than one actually. The use of 'emasculated' is generalising and
potentially derogatory - and is an assumption based on a stereotype and as for questioning, or implying to, the size of their manhood, well!
Truth be told, I honestly really don't care, as long as it's not outlandish, but coming from a work environment where folk were almost too scared to speak because of anything they said being misinterpreted or deemed
potentially insulting to one group or another, then yeah, that comment about racism made me sit up and take notice, as I'm as anti-PC as they come. I hate it when such comments are used as a form of intimidation or moral righteousness or indignation. Ooh, look what I just did!
Those are a lot from words from someone who doesn't care....
I stand by my comments that some Thai men (you will see I previously said some, and that it's not the major problem some forum users believe) feel emasculated by others' money and power (possibly from others' better jobs, the deference shown to them, maybe even their attitude towards those of lower station) and if the target is farang then this gives them an easy grudge to formulate (easier than hating another Thai). If they then act on it that's the racism, not my having mentioned it. That comment (emasculation) was anyway a generality and did not refer specifically to the incident in question. If you want to disagree with the statement it's up to you, but I think you'd be in the minority, and it is in any case no way an example of stereotyping, because I clearly said that I felt it was not a major thing. That in fact is the opposite of stereotyping.
The bashing that Thai men generically get in this forum from some users is most certainly at the very least near-racist.
I also am un-PC and I claim NO moral high-ground, but I can smell bigotry when it's held under my nose. Let's see if further details of the incident come to light and see if the title of this thread holds any value; it well may not, as I said.
By the way, if you need to Google penis size around the world, feel free, the information is freely bandied about. Tut all you like, Thais both male and female will be aware of it I'm sure.
