Home Again Blues

Post by Viseman »

Hey everyone in Hua Hin,
I am back home again, in the mundane old US of A. Right now I would do anything short of sawing my head off to get back in Hua Hin. I had a blast there.
A big thanks goes out to everyone at all the bars. In particular - The Ship (Loso and Eddie rock!), Celtic, and J&B bars for making my time there off the wall.
My big question for the people in the forum is this: What is the best way to ditch the Post - Thailand blues? Please keep in mind that I make next to nothing in America. Suggestions and ridicule are all welcome.
Sincerely,
Josh

Thailand blues (Bangkok Blues) are a genuine problem - I know MANY who suffer - I used to also before I move here 3.5 years ago ... Moving here is the ULTIMATE solution :thumb:

But the BEST I'm aware of is start planning your next trip, however far in the future it may be. Set aside the dates decide where you're going, what you're doing and start planning NOW! whether that just be a budget/savings plan or research on the internet etc ...

And of course keep it here !

Hmmm, that's a hard one. Sorry to hear you got the ol' "post part 'em" blues. There are some fun things that you can do in good ol' America to have a pice of Thailand with you always... Try these:

Walk in to a local bar or restaurant with your own bottle of whiskey and demand glasses, ice and a coke. Do not order anything else and do not tip. Leave as instructed by management if necessary.

When you see one of those 'hot' heffers of a woman, y'know the ones - the kind only America and McDonald's working in tandem can produce - stop, act taken aback and say, "Mmm, sexy lady!" (Hey, if young numbile Thai hotties can do it to fat old farang, so can you! Besides you might make some new friends!)

Go to a local nighclub and [try] to find an attractive Asian girl (if you cannot, any semi-attractive girl will do). Offer to buy her a "lady drink." If she accepts, you're in! A while later ask her how much her bar fine is... If she acts confused, just follow-up with "Y'know, how much short-time?" (Warning: may result in physical violence.)

While these may be fun for passing the time state-side, the only true cure to your blues is to work like hell, save money and get your ass back on a plance to Thailand. Good luck!

Hell you and me both viseman and it's bloody cold here too under 10c at present.

Working on on my 10 year plan and it don't include any more cold winters

HH again next year and if I can set things up right, well into the future.
