Car ads on Thai TV

Post by usual suspect »

Here we go..just another little quirky observation.

When in Europe, watching TV, & the adverts come on, you may see one by a car manufacturer..
..The glossy paintwork reflecting off the setting sun, the man effortlessly driving his pride & joy along empty roads with his pretty lady aside him, (always a shot of her long legs as we see him change gear)..& maybe 2 very contented kids, safe & secure in the back seats.
All this while a seductive voice-over tries to inform you of the vehicle's facts & figures..all-in-all a hard package to resist.
BUT WAIT..Now let's observe an advert on Thai TV for a pick-up or car...
..Loud vibrant music, voice-over almost shouting the stats at you, if it's a pick-up it's GOT to be scorching thru' big puddles & taking off over ramps in a quarry, or for a car it's GOT to be in a car-chase. It's a testosterone-fueled race thru' that quarry to your nearest dealership to sign that irresistable 3yr finance deal.. :banghead:
And now Kubota tractors are using the same style of ad..the tractor is driven by an absolute moron who in the ad slides it a high speed, kicks up as much spray as poss, & tries to make it do what the Toyota did in the same quarry 2 minutes ago..ha-ha!
One has to think that if the car-ad did not have 'power-music' playing all the way thru' the ad, we'd be subjected to those 'pantomime' sound effects as the car shifts into top gear whilst spraying gravel over the cameraman..555!

Yep - aren't they just brilliant?
You forgot to mention the free L.E.D. TV or i-phone if you buy one - not that it has anything to do with the quality of the car...............
