My wife - Thai - singing along to "Prison Trilogy", followed by "To Bobby", "Diamonds and Rust" (another song about her and Dylan) and then "Bangla Desh" (her choice) all written and performed by Joan Baez. The last being very heavy and sombre in tone, but haunting in words, and of course, x years later, nothing has changed. There are several songs of Joanie that she loves. Give me a few minutes and they'll be more.

Glad to be of influence!

Just missed JB's last concerts here, next time she's around, we'll both go. Be No.7 for me.

Ian Dury - Reasons to be Cheerful (part III)

With less than an hour to go until the Permiership season kicks off I started musing on a theme various things football. Not just the teams and the players but the whole experience of watching a first class game at a stadium. I thought about the songs and the chants and then decided that 'Reasons to be Cheerful' should replace the British National Anthem.

Can you imagine the England team lining up on the fresh green turf and then starting;
"Why don't you get back in to bed - why don't you get back into bed - why don't you get back into bed - why don't you get back into bed - why don't you get back into bed......."
Even the real thickoes shouldn't have too much trouble remembering at least some of the words.

Now listening to Fairport Convention - Come All Thee

The best of English music today at Caducity House.

Two beards (Ray's is obviously better) in perfect harmony. Peerless.

Can't wait to see him in October - I'm so excited!!!!!

More JJ Cale. As I've said before, I think, I owe a friend a debt for 19 albums on my computer now. "Naturally" at the moment.
A bit of the blues from Gary Moore before that.
And I managed to beat the missus 3-2 at cribbage. That is becoming a major achievement these days.
:shock:
