Yes, it is definitely walkable - I've done the walk many times.

Yes, clear all the way. Count on two hours plus from the Hilton.

Once you get bored with that, you can also walk from Khao Takiap to Khao Tao, the next headland heading south.

What happens when you get to monkey Mountain? Do you have to walk around the road way or can you go via the fishing village?STEVE G wrote:Once you get bored with that, you can also walk from Khao Takiap to Khao Tao, the next headland heading south.

Not as easy at high tide but it can still be done if you don't mind getting a little wet.

I've only walked the two as different walks, but I think you would have to go around the road to Khao Takiap beach if you wanted to do it in one go as I don't think there is a way of crossing the small harbour.Siani wrote:What happens when you get to monkey Mountain? When you get there make sure to walk up Monkey mountain and around the little fishing port. When I go there, about twice a week I call into Kan's tea coffee shop, on the area leading to the temple and fishing village. Always a lovely cup of tea (real leaf) or cold drinks, they do breakfast and snaks etc too. This is all served with a lovely smile from Kan. It is a good place to have a chat with Graham about local events. Only a stone throw from the beach and the gold Buddha.
