A couple of days in parachuap khiri khan

Post by LastResort »

Hi there,

I'm going to be in the Hua Hin area in early septmber for about two weeks.
I thought about spending a couple of nights in parachuap khiri khan in order to visit Ao Manao.

Can a tourist manage in parachuap khiri khan?
How do I get there (and back) from Hua Hin?

Thanks!

I would imagine train, bus or taxi. All transport will go through Pracuab.
As far as surviving as a tourist is concerned, I reckon you'll be fine. Quieter than HH and smiling, happy people. Just go with the flow.
Others will be able to point you in the right direction regarding accommodation etc but in almost any town of any size in Thailand there will be a hotel at around the 500 THB mark.

Thanks!

I guess there will be no problem getting a taxi/TukTuk to Ao Manao from the city, right?
How about inside Ao Manao - If I want to go see tha langur monkeys and get back to the beach?

You'll get a taxi to the beach easily. I think you can stay at Ao Manao and there's a thread about that.
I'm sure others will link you into that.
Have a good time.

Basically Ao Manao is at the Southern end of Prachuab. We stayed at the Sun Beach Hotel, and although I had the car, everywhere was easily walkable.

Ok, I guess I'll just get there and see how things are rolling.

Big Boy - do you recommend the Sun Beach Hotel?

Yes, I thought it was good for the money. However, there is a thread on here somewhere, where people say it's gone downhill, and the owner has turned into Basil Fawlty. We stayed in December, and had no complaints.

definitely recommend the sun beach guest house despite the couple of nasty comments on tripadvisor, lovely place, nice rooms at very reasonable price (the owner might have felt a bit low and had a few too many, but that happens to all occasionally doesn't it !!!)
