Post by LastResort »

Hi,

Are there day trips operating from Hua Hin to Sam Roi Yot?
What are the approximate prices?

Thanks!

I love driving through Sam Roi Yod, it is sometimes windy, it seems deserted although the prawn ponds can have some action aerating the water, mountains in the background, all the power cable poles etc, It reminds me of when I used to go to Nevada, Arizona etc
The small fishing village near the cave is very pleasant as well ,plus it doesn't take long to get there if you miss out Pranburi.

Where do you catch the boat to the cave?

I think you can negotiate for a taxi and driver for a full day tour, it is very nice to stick to the coast from Pranburi (Pak Nam Pran) along quiet roads to Dolphin Bay and then it is about 10 miles to Sam roi Yod.
I rent a vehicle for 7 days and do a bit of a road trip, this costs about 1000 per day plus fuel.
Maybe you can ask the question on the forum if any members know somone who would drive to sam Roi Yod for the day, it only takes about an hour to get there directly.
Have a good trip.

If you're going to the Phraya Nakhon cave then try to get there about 11/ 1130am. That is roughly when the sun is coming through the collapsed cave roof and lights up the King's sala. Looks so much better than even an hour either side.

Allow a couple of hours to get from the car park to the cave, and make sure you wear suitable footwear.
