Pranburi airport

My neighbour told me that they are going to build an airport 30 mins south of Pranburi ..Any truth in it or is it just conjecture..?

There is a military airport (actually, I guess they all are?) at Prachuap KK.

There is already an airstrip on the outskirts of Pranburi (Not in the military base).

It is part of a failed development which was to include a new marina fronting the Pranburi River together with some very large upmarket villas.
All of which is now in disrepair as a result of the economic crash of 96/97.

The runway is now used by the local wags as a drag strip for souped up motorbikes on a Sunday afternoon.
