Sail School near Pratchuab

Post by STEKFLIT »

2-3 weeks ago, on the forum of Village Market, there was an exhibition made by a sailing school, a few small sail boats and a desk.
I unfortunately lost the business card of the guy in charge.
Does any one knows the name and address of that school? I remember they are just south of Pratcuabkirikhan...
Thank you.

Hi

The name of the establishment is Tabsakae ailing Club.

Their numbers are 0817-055-134 or 0875-327-548.

Maybe see you there

would you be kind enough to report if in fact it is a 'real club' with regular sailing competitions
and do they have second hand boats for sale
many thanks

Found the following after a quick search - the 0817 055 134 number ties up, so this certainly looks like the place. http://www.seaman-yacht.com/seaman-yacht.php

[EDIT] Obviously a designer/builder, but I assume worth contacting.
[EDIT 2!!] On looking further, there is a Sailing School as part of their services.........

Yeah! That's it. There is some kind of partnership with the shipyard and the sail school. I remember kids may start learning on a big lake and then on sea later on.
Looked perfect to me for the kids on week-ends. And not that far after all... :D

BOAT CLUB NEWS
I have been to the sailing club a few times already with students from Somtawin. They have Hobie Cats, Lasers and Optimists. They have just completed the construction of a Club House and moved some of the boats there. The instructor K. Lek has 20 years experience.

They teach beginners on a large pond and once competent move onto the sea. Do not expect an opulent clubhouse and nearby hotels. Thap Sakae is a small fishing community; there is a great beach and some very tasty seafood but that is about all. If you want to stay for a few days K. Leg has a home stay or Rocky Point Resort is about 15 minutes away.

Getting there takes us about 2 hours with a coffee stop, head south past Prachuap and Huai Yang (Jacks Resort) In Thap Sakae follow the main road to the beach. The club house is overlooking the pond on the left just before the sharp left hand turn onto the beach road. (Big pond visible on Google Earth)

You can contact K. Lek by calling 0875327548.

If you are looking for a boat take a look at Seamen Yachts which is on the left just before Thap Sakae. They make all their boats from molds not by coating plywood with fiberglass. The can provide almost anything and the price is very competitive laser is 100k

I will be going again in early December if you go please PM me let me know how you get on.

Thank you so much.
My daughter's recent health problems hold us from getting there.
What I read really is exciting: We'll get there as soon as possible.
A pity such a school isn't in HH or Cha Am: Both get ponds and sea...
Thanks again.
