Happy New Year to everybody.

Just a reminder that karate training resumes this week. First class is the adult class tomorrow at 1900hrs, followed by the childrens class on Wednesday at 1800hrs.

Well, this is one person that needs no reminding. I've had a 7 year old reminding me almost daily. It's been like a three week countdown. Lack of enthusiasm is definitely not a problem

Good News!!

Following a vist from the UK last week, Sensei Grimes, Chief Instructor WKF, has granted me a further 12 months affilliation, permitting me to teach under the WKF banner.

Starting from 12 March 2013, ALL CLASSES, both Adult and Childrens, will start at 19:00 hours and finish at 21:00 hours.

Last week was very special for the Wado Karate Federation, Hua Hin. We had the well respected son of the WKF Chief Instructor, Sensei George Grimes jnr visiting from the UK. He attended all sessions, and passed on the benefits of his father's teachings. All sessions benefitted from Sensei Grimes' experience.

Karate is not only dojo training.

In Karate, never attack first.

Don't forget that Karate begins with a bow and ends with a bow.

One who practices Karate must follow the way of justice.

First you must know yourself. Then you can know others.

Spiritual development is paramount; technical skills are merely means to the end.

You must release your mind.

Misfortune comes out of laziness.

Karate is a lifelong training.

Put Karate into everything you do.

Karate is like hot water. If you do not give heat constantly it will again become cold.

Do not think you have to win. Think that you do not have to lose.

Victory depends on your ability to tell vulnerable points from invulnerable ones.

Move according to your opponent.

Consider your opponent's hands and legs as you would sharp swords.

When you leave home, think that millions of opponents are waiting for you.

Ready position for beginners and natural position for advanced students.

Kata is one thing. Engaging in a real fight is another.

Do not forget (1)strength and weakness of power, (2)expansion and contraction of the body, (3)slowness and speed of techniques.

It's been the weather from Hell today, and for only the 2nd time in the Hua Hin Dojo's history, health and safety dictated that training could not take place. I felt like a football referee checking the Dojo floor at 18:30 tonight. Checking to see if the Dojo surface was suitable for training. It was with regret that I had to phone members to cancel the lesson.

The cancellation was just as well because what would have been 30 minutes into the lesson, we had a power outage.

They say it happens in 3's - fingers crossed for tomorrow's kids lesson.

With effect from next Friday 12 July 2013, the children's class will switch from Wednesday nights to Friday nights. Training times will still be 7pm until 9pm.

This date also marks the 1st birthday of the Hua Hin Branch of the Wado Karate Federation. Kids had better expect that some cake might be involved

After nursing a football injury for the last 10 days, karate is back this week starting with tomorrow's adult session at 1900hrs.

Last week's birthday celebration has been re-arranged for this Friday's children's class at 1900hrs.
