Vana Nava Hua Hin City FC 2016

Post by Big Boy »

The club's website has at last posted a message, so I'm assuming there will be a team next season, so we can start a new thread. We'll add the rest of the team name, when it is announced - maybe we should start a poll trying to guess how many words will feature in this season's club name :?

Using the online translation tools, the initial message does not sound good, talking about downsizing and money being owed from the UK. Hopefully sabai sabai will translate properly for us - maybe it's not all doom and gloom.

Google translate does an unusually bad job in this instance it seems IMO, unless the person is speaking a lot of slang which Google and Bing have a real hard time with. Something about a youth school and a UK sponsor.....

Well, if that is happening, it could be last season's Lucas Neil rumour actually about to happen.

It more or less states that they will open scholarships in Rachamongkol Institute of Technology of Huay Mongkol for talented young footballers and HCFC will start building a new team from these youngsters. These youngsters will be able to study free. (Isn't this a way many U.S. universities do?) More details will follow shortly.

Some money is still due from the sponsors in England and if the money hasn't arrived before 2nd. of December, they will proceed to sue these sponsors. They will give more details later.

Petchaburi (Phetburi), who were in the same league, and Prachuab in the League above. However, after what happened in 2014, there's still a bad taste when I think of Prachuab. Without Champions League qualification, Prachuab offers a much longer season.

I hope I don't have to consider either.

I see the new chairman (Bik Dam has stepped down) has made a statement advising that money is still owed from our foreign 'investors' and that the matter has been passed to a legal company to pursue.

In the meantime they are asking for some help from sponsors to fund the team for this season. They insist that they will do their best to help pay money owed to (former) players whilst the legal matters drag on. Consequently this season's playing budget has to be slashed big time. There will be 11 positions up for grabs for players with wages not exceeding 10,000thb per month. The rest of the squad will be made up by the students receiving scholarships and not being paid a salary.

They've provided a number to call for anyone interested, I'm a bit rusty, haven't played since I've been living over here but I might give them a call! :naughty:

Thanks Sabai Sabai, that's more or less what I'd thought I'd been reading. So our sugar daddies cocked us up big time ............. we've moved from a decent team with good sponsors to a team with next to nothing in a year :?

Not sure I understand your sponsorship issues, the shirts have Bangkok Hospital, Vana Nava, InterContinental and Leo on them - they're all local companies. Who are these foreign sponsors?

Very much so, given the unpaid wages/debts that the club have effectively incurred, it's safe to say we're in a worse position now than we were when they arrived. :cuss:

The bit I've always struggled to get my head round since stories started circulating, and still struggle to understand now is....... Why??? If you have no money to invest then why get involved, with not just 1 but 2 clubs, because the same thing happened at TOT of course.

I can understand someone coming in and throwing money around and all of a sudden the money runs out, but from what we're led to believe there has been no money actually thrown around, only broken promises.

What do/did they actually stand to gain from all this nonsense?? If it was some kind of scam then it's not worked very well as I can't see that they've actually got any money out of it..... Only debts being chased up through the courts.

This is the reason I was slow to believe there was a problem when the stories of wages not being paid surfaced, I thought 'they must have money, it will just be red tape' or else why go to the bother?! Utterly bizarre!

I think they were spending a 3rd party's money, which never materialised. They even named the guy.

What with this, and a stadium which is barely fir for purpose, it could be a long season - if we survive that long. After last season, I hope the fun/carnival atmosphere returns.

How am I not surprised by all this. After some of the crap that I was told by 'the main man' or at least one of them, that a well-known ex - Premiership player was coming, Nobby Solano was going to be running the team and also that we were going to have a brand new stadium built on the by-pass - not the Takiab version - all of which turned out to be complete BS, I am sure many supporters like me are totally lost for words. Last season promised so much but these power hungry retards sacrificed Hua Hin City's season by pursuing their pipe dream of owning a Thai Premier League team and left us high and dry as our better players were loaned out to other teams and our coaches based themselves in Bangkok, therefore we were left without a rudder and we could not navigate our way to a top two place. At no time since the first rumblings of the takeover of TOT, has anyone with a pair of balls even uttered a word to let us know what was going on and we carried on regardless. I am gutted beyond belief that it was allowed to get out of hand. Several of us had heard rumblings and were laughed out of court but he who laughs last, laughs longest. Only none of us are laughing. What now? Can a solution be found that can ensure the survival of our club and can it at least be wrestled away from these do-gooders and in to the hands of people who love the club??

Looks like the budget doesn't stretch to English translations this season!

Over the last week it's been announced that our former coach who led us to the Champions League 2014 has agreed to take up the role again, and from what I can gather, him and his staff will be doing so voluntarily, without wages.

We're also starting to fill the 11 (paid) playing positions with 6 former players agreeing to come back and help out despite the 10k per month wage cap, including Shota, Wongsawad and Yongsad.

We've also picked up a further 3 players from our neighbours Petchaburi, at least 2 of which have been loaned to us, the 3rd I think his contract had expired already.

The club stated again their intention to pay as much of the income this season to players still owed money from last season. They said they were tempted to go completely with kids/students, but realised that realistically in doing so, crowds would drop, and consequently revenue available to pay debts would drop.

There seems to be a feeling of people pulling together to help out within the club, hopefully the fans will do the same!
