Re: Hua Hin Zoo
Maybe they'll have some tigers rescued from the Tiger Temple, Terry. Hurriedly built enclosures and perimeter fences... You could have more than homo sapiens fishing in your ponds.

Re: Hua Hin Zoo
I really hope this new place is ecologically friendly, and humane. I stopped going to zoos long ago here as most were nothing more than filthy animal prisons. I always used to take visitors on a long tail boat ride after lunch at a riverside hotel in Bangkok, and a mandatory "let's take your money" stop was at a real dungeon of a place along a canal on the Thonburi side. If I ever go back I hope to find it closed.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how this new place develops and is managed. Someone please do a visit report about 6 months to a year from now after they have time to excel, or sink into squalor. Pete

Over the last few days, the same signs as in BBs OP, went up along the Pa La U Road and the access road to the Lodge.
Re: Hua Hin Zoo
Well, I'm pleased to report that diddly squat has happened to the land we were told was going to be a zoo.

Re: Hua Hin Zoo
Maybe it was previously provisioned for the zoo, but the zoo then had to change location due to legal/political ramblifications?

Re: Hua Hin Zoo
Don't think so. THIS zoo has had a gestation period of at least 7 years to my knowledge..........Pleng wrote:Maybe it was previously provisioned for the zoo, but the zoo then had to change location due to legal/political ramblifications?
Re: Hua Hin Zoo
does that preclude it from a last minute change of location?
Re: Hua Hin Zoo
Did it open on the 26th?

There was meant to be a soft opening last night. B999 for entry, buffet and free flow wine and beer. Did anyone make it and are able to report back?

Looking forward to trying Hua Hin Zoo out.
It's also nice to see the owner is getting his hands dirty and helping to transport the animals. Good for him.
