13th Preserve Hua Hin Beach Run ** With Photos

The 13th Preserve Hua Hin Beach Run takes place on 15 May 2016. There are 3 distances, 21.1Km, 10.5Km and 5Km. First race starts at 5:30am. Different this year, it's a fairly flat course with a mixture of road and beach.

Entries are limited this year, so register early to avoid disappointment.

You've got the huge traffic island where the green buses start. Looking South there a big bit of waste land to the right, where you can climb the steps to the temple. I'm assuming it's that waste land (temple grounds).

My dad noticed earlier during registration (I don't own a credit card so couldn't do it myself) that only the first Thai to cross the line receives the grand prize (I believe it's a certificate from a Princess).

I'll do bloody well to finish the run.... so this doesn't affect me in anyway whatsoever. I just thought it was a bit 'off'.

Don't worry, you'll get your vest whether you finish or not, plus a big fat medal if you finish. At least it's a flat course this year - Hin Lek Fai was a killer - agony on the back of the legs going down, and gasping for breath on the way back up again.

Thinking about last year, there was nothing stopping competitors turning back at any point, so maybe you could put in a faster time than you think.

Some people did in fact take advantage of the 'lax' rules a few years ago, I believe. The organisers countered this poor sportsmanship with a rigorous overhaul of their system. They seem confident that the measures put in place last year, during a trial period, will prove successful in thwarting any ill-advised competitors this year.
