Best free weight gym in Hua Hin

Post by aussie07 »

Hi all,

I'm staying at the Marriot in Hua Hin next week and would like to do some free weight training. Can anyone recommend a gym for this? I'm not going to use a swimming pool, baths etc. I've read some other threads on gyms but none are too clear when it comes to gyms with free weights.

Thanks

There's nothing 'best gym' in HH friend.
The thai-boxing arena near Grand Plaza hotel at the market have most equipment. It's old and tired, but you don't find any more elsewhere - or at least I didn't.

old, tired and rusted is ok with me. so they've got olympic bars, plates, benches etc?

i'm not expecting hammer strength equipment, just something useable :)

If you do go to the grand be careful of the times you go its a bit of a local cresh
avoid Saturdays and Sundays

parents enroll their kids in martial arts classes and dump them there all day while they go off shopping , its just a mad house of wild children doing their own thing

I'm not an expert Aussie, but I know a few 'big' thaiguy's and they use it.
I looked around a few years ago, but didn't find anything that got even close to the place.
You can walk from Marriot in a few min., so give it a look friend.

Dr. Dave is right about the thai's there. The activities is separated by the boxingring, so it's (for me) a funny scene to watch and be a part of. Never feelt annoyed about it
