The driver of the pickup has no doubt done that same manoeuvre many times and got away with it, but eventually your luck runs out - there’s a reason why the Highway Code says don’t “overtake” on the inside!!

Saw a fair few accidents driving back and forward to Bangkok last week, most of them caused by dangerous u-turns and slow vehicles hogging the fast lane by the looks of things - no idea why Thais have to sit in this outside lane regardless of what they're driving and at what speed.

Same old question, "Where were the police?" Much of the road to Bangkok now has a minimum speed limit, but nobody to enforce it.

Yes the slow outside lane huggers encourage the speeders to lane weave with the inevitable consequences. A set of highway patrol cars could quite quickly bring about a change in driving habits but for whatever reason, nobody has the appetite to do it, so carnage will remain!!

I have come up with the idea of renaming the inside lane the VIP lane! You would never get the buggers out of it then!

Upon questioning, Mr. Thawatchai Ikamhenid, 33, a truck driver, claimed that he was driving along the road. The green pickup truck accelerated to the left before crashing into the road. The driver quickly swerved the steering wheel to the right, but the vehicle broke out of lane and collided with an oncoming van at a speed on the other side. The rolling van immediately fell into a roadside trench. The pickup truck crashed into its truck. As a result, there were such injuries and deaths. Initially, the officers reviewed the footage from the truck's dash cam and found that it was consistent with Mr. Thawatchai's testimony, which will be investigated further.
