I did it with my car couple of years ago: Vientiane to Luang Prabang to Phonsavan and back to Vientiane.
Very good road, must be familiar with mountain roads, a lot of curves.
For paperwork at border, some people will do it for you for a couple of 100 Bahts.

thanks all again, driving in right side is the same as in DK. so no problem, the only thing that could be a concern is that our car is a nissan almeira with automatic gear, and the theres not so many hp to play with, but will give it a go.

I managed to get to the top of Doi Inthanon in a Nissan Almera, but when the hills and mountains
surpass 10 % in level increase above 2000 meters there's nothing left in the engine compartment.
Just try and blame Nissan if you don't make it. I'm sure you will succeed and conquer any mountain in front of you.
Yes, Denmark if flat as a pancake, but your Nissan is up to it.

Are you allowed to enter Laos or Cambodia if the car has tinted windows?

Tinted windows hasn't been a problem in Laos or Cambodia for me. It is a problem when crossing to Malaysia though. The border folks even have a device to check the tint level and are known to force drivers to peel off tint films that go over a certain threshold.
