Plastic-eating caterpillar could munch waste, scientists say

Post by PeteC »

Good news if they can develop it. It may also mean eventually we'll be able to take a pill then eat and digest our plastic bags. I'm sure they'll come in flavours when that happens  Pete

^ Reminds me of one of the first "science gone wrong, apocalypse" books I read in my youth... Mutant 59, The Plastic Eaters, about microbe created to deal with plastic waste that gets loose in the world and wreaks havoc, bringing down airplanes, shutting down cars, medical devices, etc., because of all the plastic based products and parts in everything we use on a daily basis.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
