Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport
Has anyone found a website that posts regular updates on the works in progress at hua hin airport? Like weekly or monthly? I see the usual news updates a couple of times a year but they're usually light on detail.
Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport
I think you have to wait for a slow news day, and all of the usual suspects will publish eutopia, regarding progress and forthcoming flights. Of course, nothing ever changes.

When the contracts were awarded I expected they would be obliged to report on progress regularly to the public which seems to be the case for rail works at least, including % completion breakdowns.

Here we go again. New flights from Hua Hin airport.
Big story in Hua Hin Today with lots of if, buts and maybes.
“Tipped to begin”, “expected”, “launch targeted for September”, “initially operating as a charter flight”, “plans to operate”, “the potential new services”, “if confirmed”.

New domestic flight routes connecting Hua Hin to key cities in southern Thailand are expected to launch as early as September, following the arrival of a new aircraft at Hua Hin Airport on 7 July.
On 7 July, reporters were informed that the newly acquired aircraft is a 12-seater Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX. It landed at Hua Hin Airport where it was warmly welcomed by Mr. Rattaphon Charoenphon, Senior Electrical Engineer and Acting Director of Hua Hin Airport, and Mr. Pradorn Tharapak, Managing Director of M-Landarsh Co., Ltd., a specialist in small aircraft operations. Airport staff also participated in a traditional Buddhist blessing ceremony conducted by monks from Wat Khao Chong Pradu, Hua Hin.
Officials from Hua Hin Airport confirmed that the Cessna aircraft was imported by M-Landarsh Co., Ltd., which operates as Ezy Airlines. The aircraft was brought in from the United States and is now in the process of being registered for domestic flight operations.
According to Mr. Rattaphon, Hua Hin Airport is fully prepared to support the introduction of new services. “The airport has a fully operational runway, parking apron, terminal, and security systems,” he said. “The arrival of Easy Airline represents an important new option, especially since the current services are limited to just four weekly flights between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai.”
The arrival of the new aircraft signals the start of a partnership between Ezy Airlines and Hua Hin Airport, which operates under the Department of Airports. The cooperation will see the launch of new routes such as Hua Hin–Phuket, Hua Hin–Surat Thani, and Hua Hin–Hat Yai. Services are expected to be offered as both scheduled and non-scheduled flights, with a launch targeted for September to coincide with the high season for tourism in Hua Hin.
Mr. Thani Tharapak, Managing Director of M-Landarsh Co., Ltd., explained that the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX is a brand-new aircraft with seating for 8 to 12 passengers. Known for its high safety standards and durability, the aircraft is capable of landing in various environments and weather conditions and is easy to maintain. The aircraft is valued at 150 million baht and will soon be registered under Thai nationality.
Following the success of our Hat Yai–Betong and Betong–Hat Yai routes, which received excellent feedback, this new aircraft will serve the Hua Hin–Surat Thani–Phuket–Hat Yai route,” said Mr. Thani. “We expect to launch services in September, initially operating as a charter flight.”
The initiative is part of Ezy Airlines’ broader plan to increase regional connectivity across southern Thailand. In May 2024, the airline first announced its intentions to introduce short-haul flights connecting provinces in the south. At the time, General Supakorn Sanguanchartsornkrain, the airline’s chief advisor, outlined a vision of providing travel options that significantly reduce journey times.
“Ezy Airlines is ready to operate both regular and charter flights. Our goal is to become a short-haul airline that connects destinations in the south within 60 minutes,” General Supakorn said. “By offering faster and more convenient travel, we aim to improve the quality of life and reduce reliance on long-distance road and rail transport.”
Ezy Airlines plans to operate its services using the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX aircraft. Hat Yai International Airport will serve as the airline’s main hub, with routes to Betong, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Narathiwat, Phuket, and Krabi already part of its network.
The airline’s business model targets travellers looking to avoid the lengthy road and rail journeys common across the region, which often span over 1,300 kilometres and are affected by seasonal weather. The short-haul flights are intended to provide a faster, more direct alternative for locals, tourists, and business travellers alike.
Ezy Airlines’ future plans also include training pilots specifically for the Cessna aircraft and further expanding its network of short-distance routes. Four initial routes—Hat Yai to Surat Thani, Hat Yai to Nakhon Si Thammarat, Hat Yai to Betong, and Hat Yai to Narathiwat—are already in operation or planned for the near future.
The potential new services from Hua Hin mark a step forward in improving accessibility to and from the region, particularly for travellers heading to the south of Thailand. If confirmed, the September launch will provide a timely boost to Hua Hin’s air connectivity ahead of the peak tourist season.

Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport
Do these guys read what they write? Story after story about what is coming. We've had airport closures whilst they improve facilities to prepare for the extra flights, multiple aircraft, international connections, etc. This was started long before Covid.the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX is a brand-new aircraft with seating for 8 to 12 passengers
What do we end up with? An 8 or 12 passenger Cessna to maybe 3 domestic locations.
You couldn't make this stuff up. I am disappointed.

Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport
Whilst I’m sure that most people would love to see the return of the HH to KL international flights, a few domestic flights to a number of southern areas like Phuket, Koh Samui (not mentioned) would be better than nothing. A few years ago one of my sons and his partner stayed with us for a week and then had to take the overnight (somewhat dangerous) coach down to Krabi - I’m sure they would have jumped at the chance of an hour hop on a Cessna!!
Re: Flights to/from Hua Hin Airport
I'm sure they wold have loved the opportunity, but after so many positive promises over the years, an 8 or 12 seater Cessna is a bit of a let down.
