Just been checking out the Norwegian web site. They have excellent fares between Bangkok and Oslo. One way economy fares are often below 200 pounds, yes you have to pay extra for food and drinks but they offer free wi fi on their long haul flights. You can get very cheap connections on to airports all over Europe. If you have to overnight at Oslo airport then there is an airport hotel for under 50 pounds per night. What really interests me though is their Premium class which is 404 pounds each way and this includes meals, drinks and 2 pieces of luggage. Also gives you lounge access in Oslo and Bangkok. The seat has a 46 inch pitch which is way better than all the economy classes, on all the airlines, that are 31 or 32 inch. Just too small a space for my long legs but I am just too cheap to pay 2000 pounds which Turkish, Emirates, Etihad, Qatar all charge. They also use new 787's. Think I will give this airline a try this summer. Certainly seems the cheapest way to fly with more legroom.
Has anyone used this airline and any comments?

Browsing through some of the travel sites for cheap flights and regularly came across Transaero as the cheapest option.
They are Russian, operating out of moscow.
Has anyone flown with them?

As a plus, I came across this website.
http://www.momondo.co.uk/
As comparison sites go, it's the best I've encountered and provides the easiest options to fine tune your search if you are flexible.

I've used Momondo for some years finding very good prices, but also use http://www.skyscanner.net/?usrplace=UK& ... EN&ccy=GBP. Also good.

Having flown between here and England 3 times and not being that impressed so far with cheapest option each time (Vietnam airlines £420rtn 2012, Emirates £520rtn 2013, Kuwait airlines £350ow 2014), i thought this year i'd go back to British Airways, having always used them for European flights.
The rtn direct flight between BKK & LHR is economy outbound and Premium economy inbound, £745 during the sale...personally, i think its worth the extra to fly direct with an airline you know you like/trust.
When nosy expats ask how can i live here without working, i reply, 'well, while you worked hard for 50 years, i worked smart for 5 years' :D

I've never flown with them but a friend of mine works for them. They're cheap at the moment because many Russians are cancelling their holidays due to the collapse of the rouble.

Qatar Airways from Doha is down $180 compared to late November /14.
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

One way BKK-LHR on Thai 4115 THB, taxes will take it to 9000 or so but still a cheap one way flight.

A few days availability over the next week.

See http://www.thaiairways.com/en_TH/plan_m ... nd_go.page?

(Yes - I realise that is not a " flight to Thailand " but thought someone might be interested in a cheapo the other way)

Norwegian Air are doing some pretty good deals at the moment. We've just booked a one-way flight in July from Gatwick to BKK (via Stockholm) total cost for the two of us just over £550 (£140 from Gatwick to Stockholm and £417 from Stockholm to BKK).

We've decided to try the Trans-Siberian railway this year - so half-rail/half-flying to the UK. Should be fun...

I am here now with a very cheap direct flight with Eva. Two adults and one child four years old £1370 return. I have had a number of people complaining to me that the Christmas flights have gone through the roof maybe just a marketing ploy to advise xxx% off flights later on in the year.
Interesting though our flight was a evening flight fully booked only 20% farang's on the flight.

I also got a great deal with EVA earlier in the year for flights to the UK next week. My company pays economy fares for me, my wife and son, for annual home leave. We got premium economy seats for much less than Thai economy. As EVA are also Star Alliance I get the air miles and can use the business lounge.
