Luxuary hotel - Bangkok

Post by sdeekay4 »

Am looking for anyone who has experienced a luxuary hotel in Bangkok. Preferrably in the Sukhumvit Road area. We are spending 9 nights in Hua Hin /Koh Takiab area before heading to Bangkok for our last night so want to make it a special night. Can spend up to $100. Thanks

I would recommend the Rembrandt Hotel on Sukhumvit Road, Soi 18.
The building is actually a 4 star hotel situated on Soi 18 which connects to the Rembrandt Private Apartments on Soi 20.

Low reason rates are $55 double occupancy Superior room to around $115 for aterrace suite.
Hotel has a nice pool terrace, an excellent Indian and Mexican restaurant (the chef here taught Phil from Philips bar how to make his burritos) and a contemporary Thai restaurant ie Khao Phad Emu at xxx baht.

I stay in the Apartments about B1700 - but you won't get the pampering of the hotel.

Tel : 66-2-2617100

If you exit onto soi 20 from the Apartments and walk down to Sukhumvit road about 50 m before Suknhumvit is a small side soi. At the bottom is the Drop Inn hotel. Talk to the reception they will get you a taxi to Hua Hin for B1700.

A friend stayed in the Delta Grand Pacific - above Robinsons on Sukhumvit soi Asoke - 19 and rated it.

How about Grand Pressident Apartment in soi 11 Sukhumvit? With 2 big rooms, king size bed, small kitchen conner, nice bath tub... for me it's cool for a week stay but for 1 special night I prefer Oriental Hotel on Chao river side...

I would second the Rembrandt Towers. I've stayed there many times and it is very very nice.

Another place I like a LOT and is within your budget, is Natural Ville Executive Apartments in Langsuan Road. It's not in Sukhumvit but it's 5 mins walk to two BTS stations and Sukhumvit can be accessed in no time - and Lumpini Park is just down the road. Seriously nice rooms and the service is great.

Alternatively a google search should offer plenty of options.

I too can recommend the Rembrandt. Having stayed there many times over the past ten yrs i've always found the staff, food and rooms very very good especially considering the 2200 baht rate! The Indian restaurant on the top floor is excellent and has commanding view of the city. It's conveniently located and there is even a driving range at the end of the soi if u need to work on your swing.

Last time I came thru the city the Rembrandt was full and my travel agent ( DTC Travel, located just opposite the hotel) booked me at a new boutique hotel called the Davis. It's just down the street from the Emporium shopping centre on soi 34 i think. Check out their web site....just google davis hotel, bangkok. Beautiful rooms, great service and very trendy. Well worth trying if you really want something special but the rate is nearly twice that of the Rembrandt.

You might also try looking at the Metropolitan or Sukothai hotels.

good luck

It costs a bit more than $100 per night, but the sheraton sukumvit is very good and conveniently located.

I've also stayed at the Davis. It's a really nice hotel although if you get a room on a lower floor these can be quite dark. It's also located right at the bottom of soi 24 which is a bit of a walk up to Sukhumvit Road. I'm a strider so didn't bother me, but won't suit everyone.

Believe there is now a new wing to the hotel - not heard any comments about this but I think they may have a cheaper standard room option which maybe worth checking out.

I stayed in the Peninsula in Feb this year, wow what a place. Everything at the touch of a button, well nearly everything. Rooms were just fantastic, and so was the service and staff.

The Peninsula is location on Charoennakon Rd and over looks the Chao Phraya River. All the rooms have great views, some with balconies. The hotel has three boats that continually ferry guests back and forth across the river, one of which takes you to the skytrain station S6 (Saphan Taksin). This then opens up access to most of Bangkok.

Rates range from $260 to around the $2,600 mark, so not cheap. But if you can afford it, give it ago for a night or two.

Luxury Bangkok Hotels,

I have been in a few of them.

1. London England. Just opposite Kings Cross station. The main function of this hotel is to provide short time rooms for ladies to extract as much money as possible from their clients. If you get there in a slack period you maybe able to negotiate a special rate. Stuff a tenner down the "concierge's" trousers, shove an ash tray up his nose to catch the 3 CM of ash that has been hanging out of his mouth for the last five minutes, and then you or your bird, give a flash of cleavage.

Singapore. Much more classy.

This hotel is found just at the south end of Chinatown. When you go into the lobby you will immediately notice a load of sexy looking dolly birds with no male accompaniment. Check in and accept the consequences. If you have any cash left the next day, go to see a western style doctor, if not go and find some street corner hag that sells potions that can cure anything.

I will not bore you details regarding the Luxury Bangkok Hotel in Phnom Phen, Luam Prabang, Hong Kong or Amsterdam.

I hope you get the drift.

I did enjoy the bar and food in Vertigo - Ban Yan tree sometime but I never try the Hotel, out of budget!!!

I think Ban Yan tree must have nice rooms with the great view and fancy bar and restaurant on top. I was there last Sunday night and it was raining... too baaaadddd anyway we had a nice dinner there and I really like the place.

Ban Yan tree Sathorn Rd. 5 min walk to Silom shopping center, then the green park, night bazaar ect.

Would the "we" imply that you have a partner because if memory serves me correctly your posting not two weeks ago detailed a one night stand.

You would not be by any chance a myhical Norse being who, according to Norse mythology, takes a dump on people's doorsteps and farts profusely causing the most evil of ordours.
