A place I stay at regularly and would thoroughly recommend is the Check Inn Regency Park at
12/3 Soi Sainamthip on Sukhumvit 22.
Cost about 1000baht if booked through Agoda (also recommend).
Plenty of bars and cheap restaurants around and its just off the Skytrain.

I tried to book direct and I was quoted 1750 baht ? It did include breakfast but does agoda save that much ?

"Greetings from Regency Park Hotel.

We have room availability from 6th February 2013 for 3 nights.

The room rate is Baht 1750 Net including breakfast and all taxes per room per night.

Please let me know if you would like me to make a reservation.

Looking forward to welcoming you to Regency Park Hotel.

Best Regards,"

Soi 2 is a very short walk to Nana Plaza, however jump in a cab and go to any number of clubs which will just be cranking at 1am.. places such as Spicy, Bossy, CM2, Mixx, Spasso.
The taxi should take you for free as they usually collect 100 baht for dropping you off at Spicy & Bossy.
CM2 usually gets started from midnight onwards and you will find a mix of Thai & Russian *friends* to mingle with.

Upper class night clubs are QBar, Bed Supper Club around the Soi 11 area.

Hope this helps.
I have heard that the Solo on soi 2 have now banned having late night guests, there was a few comments on trip advisor about it. I stay in the monoco hotel next door and never had any problems there, nice hotel for 1200bht.

I would recommend checking out latestays dot com for last minute hotel deals around Sukhumvit.

I'm sure you'll have a good time in Nana or Cowboy

Is nana plaza the place? What hotels/rooms are recommended for around 1500 baht Friend and I are looking for an area something like the night life area in Hua Hin but if Nana plaza is "over the top" that might be fine for a couple days too!

Any recommendations appreciated in advance !

Cheers,

Stayed at the Regency Inn. Booked it thru agoda 1200 baht

Location... perfect for my buddy and I, 2 great bars right across the street and a very cool "U" section of 15 or more girl friendly bars right there as well ! Spent 3 days/nights and managed to make our way to soi cowboy and nana plaza. 3 days was perfect for the night life stuff for us in Bangkok. Could certainly spend a couple weeks checking out various other places but we made our way to Hua Hin after that !

The Regency Inn

Location ... perfect for what we wanted ... 10

Room itself ... HUGE but older and a bit dumpy. Bed wasnt TOO BAD ! Wifi didnt work, hot water and aircon were fine ! 6.5 - 7

Service/front desk... service was GREAT. Very personable but the computer available to customers was a joke and with the wifi basically useless ? WTF ... someone needs to reach in for a couple hundred bucks ???

Value ... I checked out a few other places in the area and the regency inn was good value overall 8.5

Thx again for all the heads up. The regency worked out just fine !

Cheers,
Sean

The Dynasty (Die-nasty) hotel is only about 200m from Nana Plaza. Old building, ask fora quiet room and you'll get one. Often full during High season. They also have a free minibus to Pattaya if you are staying at Dynasty in both places
Couple of really OK but cheap places on soi7/1 the World Inn, is a big ST place but over the road they have a section of reg rooms. Clean, a little noisy excellent WiFi. At the end of the Soi Maxims about the same but quieter both 1000-1200, more in high season or holiday w'ends. These 2 places an easy walk from the Biergarden, the best easy pick-up place in BKK.

Just received this through email if it's of any interest to members traveling to Bangkok over the weekend. I've booked through these guys all over the place and must admit have not been let down yet [Mod Edit] Link removed because the forum already offers hotel booking at very competetive rates

Nana hotel,
Been using it for donkeys years now, getting a little tired, but still good value, and central to the nightlife. Just watch the ladyboys after 1 A.M. :? and leave your wallet etc. in the room safe!! :thumb:

I find Nana a bit much so prefer to stay on Soi 22 , this pub is a popular expat hangout situated in a nice quiet cul-de sac , but only 5 mins to Cowboy and the MRT. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy and you cant really go wrong for 900 baht !

We like the Soi 20/22 area as well and for the last several years have been staying at a place called Bally's Studio Suites. It's at the end of Soi 20 (accessible by taxi or personal auto only from Soi 22 because is is on a one way section of 20). The rooms are large suite type with kitchens and clean, they have guarded covered parking, and the staff, from the front desk, to room service, to housekeeping, bellman, doorman, and parking guard have always given us great service. We've been to Bangkok so many times, mostly for medical or other business reasons that we don't always go out at night any more and this place has good room service, flat screen TVs that get nearly every channel I get here on my TrueVisions platinum package, and good free in room internet. It is the best deal in Bangkok for a suite room with the amenities it has at around 1300 baht per night (depending on who you book through). It is almost exactly half way between Asoke BTS/MRT and Phrom Pong stations, but at the end of Soi 20 it is a good 10 minute walk from either, however during daylight hours (until 6 p.m.) they have a courtesy shuttle to Sukhumvit road at either the end of sois 18 or 20 which cuts the walk to Asoke BTS/MRT station down to about 5 minutes.

We're a couple who live a fairly quiet life, but for singles, the area is full of massage parlors and beer bars, including the large Queens Park Plaza bar complex and is only minutes from Soi Cowboy. Also in that section of Sukhumvit there are a lot of good places to eat and drink including several excellent British and Irish pubs. A park with a lake next to the Phrom Pong BTS station is also a good place to exercise if one is up to outside activities. Emporium shopping mall is also close by.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Honey Hotel. Suk Soi 19. Close to BTS and MRT and Soi Cowboy and Terminal 21.
1000 baht per night for a room with a fridge and breakfast for one. Plenty of dining nearby.

Nothing fancy, but it's clean, well run and convenient.

I was wondering if anyone had any updates as to where to stay in Bangkok. My trip to Thailand will take about 24 hours and I won't probably get out of the airport until about dark so I figured 1st night will be Bangkok to recover from travel/jet lag. Looking for something comfortable with in hotel lounge where perhaps might find companionship for the evening to help me sleep better.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
