Beware if you have a lead foot whilst driving

Post by dr dave soul monsta »

For all you drivers who read the forum beware your lead foot
the Cha am and Hua Hin Highway police have a ambush on the main petckasem rd ,

Modern technolagy radar traps are in force on this road between Hua Hin and Cha am.
The speed limit on this stretch of road is 90 kmh even though it is a three lane raceway ,the fines are on the spot and increase with the speed violation any vehicle exeeding the 90kmh will be stopped and fined

Which I personaly have to agree is not before time on this stretch of road.

You have been warned!

How many days will that last?
It's dark now so maybe the radars don't work?
How much is the fine?
Nevertheless, its about time the traffic laws were enforced, particulary with the onset of Songkran.

They dust off their equipment every now and then. And yes, I think they have some new toys now. I was ambushed with 'instant-on' from the top of a pedestrian overpass on my way to Rayong a couple of months ago. They do let you go to 110, so I got away with it. Time for a detector upgrade methinks.

They have been there for a while on this stretch of rd was coming back from Korat the other week ,,between Cha Am and hua hin the road sudenly was filtered into one lane and there they were, i had already pased a highway patrol car parked facing the wrong way about a 2km back and thought nothing of it (even the thai police drive the wrong way on the roads)
wasnt pulled in so i musnt have been speeding ,but there was around 6 / 7 cars pulled over at the side of the road and hoards of highway police ,the ones who drive the brown and yellow cars
app the fines start 200 thb and escalate with 10 kmh over the limit
