I'm surprised that you can't find cheap wooden utensils! Try any of the kitchen shops - there's a small one inside ChatChai Market that looks very tatty but is an Aladdins cave. I find that the wooden spatulas etc I buy in Thailand are far better quality - and cheaper - than those in the UK.

[quote="Big Boy"]My wife brought far too many clothes (especially the colder weather variety) and shoes. Apart from that, I think we got it about right.

Yes one jacket for chillier nights should be enough IMO. Also only washable clothing! I agree with others on the good quality kitchen knives and peelers and forks. Plus maybe a good quality can opener. But there is much more available now than 15 years ago - when I failed to take a magnifying mirror and had to pay through the nose for one from Boots.....

This phrase caught my eye, and I wondered if there was such a word as 'divorcement'.

There most certainly is:
Deuteronomy 24:1
When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
This is the way

Hmmm these days the bill definitely goes the other way!!
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

A 40 foot container full of Jack Links Beef Jerky.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

One tool I have not see locally is the oscillating multi tool, good for grout removal, sawing into tight spaces etc etc. Voltage should be considered though if coming from non 220/240V countries.

Recent items I have bought abroad though and brought back are a wireless TV extender, tile saw (for fine work) and a pair of tile nippers. Have a look at the ask the expats section and there may well be other items people have difficulty finding and can only be sourced abroad.
